  1. Yes! I also have two girls, and we relate to Bluey in a way unlike any other show. It's as much for parents as it is for kids. Sometimes we laugh out loud and tear up in the same episode. Such an amazing show.
  2. This thread seems to have gotten a bit contentious, at least by our standards. But somehow I find myself largely agreeing with most sentiments expressed on here, by all sides. WS has been great, and I'm very happy we have him. All of the coaches deserve some fault for the debacle that shall not be named. Lots of blame to go around there, including WS, IMO. It is what it is. Sh...stuff happens. Doesn't make him a bad coach. It was just the perfect storm of a bad game in all phases. But in regards to WS potentially leaving: I don't want that to happen by any means, but I also have a lot of confidence in DL's ability to hire great people. Because of that, the idea of any one coach or coordinator leaving isn't as scary for me as it once was. The funny thing is that WS is a large reason that I have that confidence, as we watched Dilly leave and then saw DL immediately bring in an awesome replacement. So it's actually the hiring of WS that makes me less worried about losing WS...if that makes any sense. Maybe I'm over confident in DL's ability to reload. But for now that's how I feel, and it allows me to rest easy (as if there would be anything I could do about it anyway). Go Ducks! Looking forward to seeing Moore to Moore next year. I think WS will make good use of that new weapon.
  3. Definitely a worthy champion. But what they overcame most of all was their own fanbase,
  4. @Mike West Great post. I'm curious about your thoughts on a Savage/Thieneman safety tandem. Both great players, but both also excel at making the big hit and tackling well, rather than coverage. And while it's exciting to think of having both of those guys hunting in the defensive backfield, I wonder how that plays out in terms of pass coverage. Your posts seem to be extremely knowledgeable, so I'd love your 2 cents on this.
  5. Also cause for leaving soon... Dan's seat, meanwhile, is comfortably room temperature.
  6. A buddy of mine often asks, when OBD are getting ready to play in a big bowl game, the following question: If you could take any past Duck and put them on this team for this game, who would it be? The answer, for both of us, is often Ngata. Dude not only occupied multiple O-lineman, but still disrupted things all by himself.
  7. Yeah, I just don't see it happening. ND is too 1-dimensional on offense...though the same could be said about that team up north, so I suppose you never know.
  8. While that game seemed relatively even until the end, I think if Henderson doesn't lose his cool and pick up that drive-killing penalty late in Q1, OSU goes up 14 and the rout might have been on. Obviously, we'll never know. But in Q1 OSU looked to be picking up right where they left off until that happened. If they immediately go up 14, on the heals of their last two dominating performances, there might have been some panic on the other sideline.
  9. It was easy, for me at least, to root for OSU tonight. Much different than watching UW last year... I imagine time in the B1G will change that eventually. But at least for now, I'm pulling for OSU all the way, and I think they will run ND off the field. It's their year. Well deserved.
  10. IMO the 2024 team would beat any of those Chip era teams. And yes, I know Chip wasn't still there in 2014, but that team was still in his image. Those duck teams were very good, and very fun to watch, but much of their success was due to being ahead of the curve with their style of play. The game has since changed and "the field" has caught up. The current Ducks simply have bigger/faster/stronger players up and down the roster. I loved me some Marcus/LaMichael/DAT, etc - but those teams would have a tough time with the current group.
  11. "For online trolls and Buckeye bros, it is perfect fodder for endless potshots, low blows, smarmy digs and backhanded snipes to a reeling Oregon fanbase. Buckle up, folks. It’s going to be a long offseason." If you're one to actually read such troll posts and feel stung by them, I would recommend washing each one down by going to 11warriors and perusing the forum for posts following their loss to Michigan, where you will find an endless stream of defeated souls calling for their coach to be fired, certain that all is lost. And keep in mind that it's those same irrational idiots who are most likely to be out trolling after a big win. (No offense to our new Buckeye members, as I definitely realize the trolls/idiots aren't reflective of the larger OSU fanbase.)
  12. @kirklandduck I've been thinking about this a bit as well, regarding the transfers vs playing time for the younger peeps. I see 2025 setting up as somewhat of a reset year. That's not to say they'll be bad. But with so many starters leaving and Moore likely taking the reigns of the offense, it feels like a couple more losses and no realistic shot at the title. But, if that's what happens and we get a lot of younger dudes on the field, I think they're back in the hunt come 2026. Even the best programs ebb and flow a little. In terms of leaning on transfers vs playing the youngsters, I think it depends on the season. This year and last we had the most experienced QB in the history of CFB and seniors up and down the roster, so DL leaned into the transfers and went for it. Next year I expect that balance to look at least a little different. But what do I know...
  13. I think back to early in the season and what our expectations were following the very suspect performances in the first two games. I was thinking at least 2-3 losses at that point. Then they beat OSU, but by a single point, at home, with a flukey ending. Yes, OBD left points on the board, but OSU had things too. Following that game would you have taken OBD to beat OSU on a neutral field, or to win more than 3-4 out of 10 games against them? I wouldn't have. The rest of the season played out the way it did, with both teams showing cracks at times. I think it was encouraging that none of the SEC teams looked amazing this year, but all the while OSU was lurking out there. OBD wasn't the best team this year. It is what it is. I think winning it all in a given year takes talent and coaching, but also some luck. We've made great strides in recent years on the first piece. Lanning seems to have things looking good on the second. One of these years soon, the third will find us. Losing in a given year is heartbreaking, but worse is when the whole thing crashes down, like it did to UW last year. Here's to hoping that's not on the horizon for us. As long as it's not, we'll have our magical season. Give it time.
  14. It’s very odd and obviously frustrating that OBD’s season is over while PSU is in the semifinals. Doesn’t seem right or fair in any way, but we all knew of that very possible scenario even before the B1G conference championship game. It also seems very apparent that OSU is an absolute buzz saw at this point. So, OBD would have had to beat them in order to take home the trophy, and based on yesterday it doesn’t seem that was likely to happen, regardless of what round it was in. Props to OSU for peaking when it matters most. But once the dust settles and we’re done feeling sorry for ourselves and fully rehydrated, let’s consider the facts of this season: OBD: 1) Won the B1G outright 2) Beat OSU, Michigan, and PSU all in their first season in the B1G 3) Won 13 games - the most ever for OBD 4) Beat every team they faced this season While it’s difficult to believe that all of those could be true and yet OBD somehow didn’t even make the semi finals…it’s still a darn impressive season. The recruiting snowball is rolling at a level we as a program have never seen. We have one of the brightest young coaches in the country. There are great things ahead. Happy New Year! Go Ducks! (And welcome new Buckeye posters!)
  15. Love this thread! I'm very pragmatic, so I tend to agree with Solar. Also, I have kids and other things tugging at my time, so knowing in advance that the game is worth watching or not...almost priceless All of that said, would you rather lose to the buckeyes and have them win it all over the SEC, proving that the B1G is legit, or beat the buckeyes and then lose to TX or GA, and listen to the SEC crowing? Enquiring mind wants to know...
