6 Coaches Oregon Should Consider
I really want to thank Coach Cristobal for everything he did for the Oregon program. I know that’s a tough decision when the other choice is home and the fact that his mom is having health concerns. It’s tough, and I wish him and his family the best. As far as who I would like to see contacted, it’s Lane Kiffin or Josh Heupel. Kiffin is a name that I think can really keep a recruiting class together and Heupel has such a strong record of explosive offenses.

Seven Offensive Coordinator Candidates for the Oregon Ducks
Well, three of those guys are actually pistol guys! It is by some, but I think that’s because they didn’t like what they saw of it in the previous offense. There are coaches that run it extremely well though, such as Greg Roman. I was even watching tape from last season and Coach Moorhead did really cool things with it. I just think a lot of his offense was already built around the shotgun and that’s what he likes to do. I don’t think it’s wrong one way or the other.

Seven Offensive Coordinator Candidates for the Oregon Ducks
I’m with you. I’m almost certain that Coach Cristobal doesn’t intervene in the offense like some people seem to think. I just don’t think that the offenses between Coach Moorhead and Coach Arroyo being as different as they are points to Coach Cristobal telling his OC what to do. And I know there’s a belief that Coach Moorhead isn’t running non stop tempo because Coach Cristobal doesn’t want him to. But if you look at Coach Moorhead’s past offenses, he’s never been a tempo guy like that. Of course, Coach Cristobal wants certain things from his offense. Like being predicated on the run. He doesn’t need to force his OC to do that because he hired an OC with the same philosophy. He wouldn’t hire a Mike Leach type coach to run the offense.

You’re right, he’s merely the top target. This was a communication error on my end, and have since edited the article.

We also saw it in the form of 77-6 last season.

Seven Offensive Coordinator Candidates for the Oregon Ducks
Hey everyone, great conversation happening here! I wanted to clear something up, I wrote this with the idea that we would run it if the deal came to fruition, and that’s my fault on getting things mixed up. It’s true that Coach Moorhead has not agreed to be the Akron coach and I really hope that he doesn’t. Wanted to clear that up, and thank you guys for reading. I will be changing some of the wording of the article to make it more in line with what’s actually going on. Thanks again!

Lincoln Riley to USC ??!!
Also, I’m sure some Ducks fans are going to say this makes it tougher to get into the playoff now, but I actually think it helps. I don’t fear Lincoln Riley going to USC, I embrace it.

Lincoln Riley to USC ??!!
Well he didn’t lie anyway lol

Lincoln Riley to USC ??!!
I think it’s great news! And it’s being reported as a done deal by the folks over at FootballScoop, who are very reliable. I think it’s awesome for the conference as a whole.

See You at the Game!
From Coach Cristobal’s presser, nobody came away with anything serious.

See You at the Game!
I’ll be at the game on Friday! In fact, I scheduled my trip before conference play even started. Anybody else going?

Nick Saban Hits the Nail on the Head
I made it more about the coaches, but I think Coach Saban just had his players in mind. For him, they’re kinda like his kids. Parents yell at their kids for doing things incorrectly, but at the same time they don’t want a stranger calling them a dumb piece of crap for it. That’s where I think he’s coming from.

Nick Saban Hits the Nail on the Head
Right, it’s not about being disappointed. Of course you can be disappointed in a loss. But some take that to an extreme. They want a coach gone who will possibly have won the conference title in three times in four years. They want the QB benched as soon as there’s one bad throw, even if it was a breakdown by the OL. I would say that’s a small portion of fans though.

Wow! That Would be Bad
I think that winning your conference should be the first step of a playoff. It works in the NFL. But I also think for that you need an expanded playoff. Then again, I don’t think that the playoff should be more than 8 teams without reducing the regular season game total.

Happy Thanksgiving!!!
Happy Thanksgiving to the FishDuck and Oregon Ducks community. As a fan, I am thankful for all of the hard work that the players and coaching staff put in everyday to field the awesome team that we get to watch each weekend! Go Ducks!!!

I was going to post a thread with the video, but I’ll just put it here! I completely agree.

Oregon’s Offense is Becoming Watchable
It’s been pretty much all year. And would have been last season too had the staff been afforded and off-season. That’s because the Shotgun is what Coach Moorhead has designed his offense around.
-
The Oregon Offense: Tight Bunch Triple Option
I believe that all of the QBs that we have on the roster have a good skill set for the offense we’re seeing. Each have varying attributes though, but the offense could be successful with any of them.
-
The Oregon Offense: Tight Bunch Triple Option
It’s really just about the structure of the play. First level defender is the first read. If he makes a specific choice, you never get to your second level read. It’s designed to create a numbers advantage.
-
The Oregon Offense: Double Pull Power RPO
To be fair, that play is inside zone though. Cardwell did a really good job of taking a backside gap which allowed the OL to have the angle advantage while still trying to blast a hole through them.
-
The Oregon Offense: Double Pull Power RPO
I’d really like to see Coach Moorhead pull out the counter too!

MARCUS ARROYO
For me, no. And that’s no disrespect to Coach Kelly. Just doesn’t feel like it’d work right. Of course, I do have a little list of OC candidates should that become an issue, but my list of guys that I want to be the OC only consists of Coach Moorhead!
