You and I are of the same mindset Charles! For nearly the quarter of a century Oregon has carried the torch for the Pac-12 in Football but have also contributed on the basketball court.
We have a major donor but season ticket holders have continued to buy and support the team. I have more gear from the bookstore than I can wear without looking like the little brother from a Christmas Story. I still give money to UO.
I work with more Beavis than I care to and hear all their whining. Oddly they haven't said a word all this week?? They don't "deserve" all the money that was made for the 23-24 season. They can have the divided share. They can have the media money from the Pac-12 network after this season but don't ask Ducks to feel sorry for you because your school chose to invest all the money from the last quarter century on everything but your money making sports!

So the narrative, all year, is B1G has the two best teams, the Pac is the best conference, and Georgia looks beatable but still #1.
I question all the narratives that the AP, coaches poll, and the CFP. If they wanted to they could change it all up and say the Pac, B1G, and the Big12 is crap and only the SEC and ACC are worth a damn--like the last 10 years.
The Pac is only getting the "respect" because Fox and ESPN were colluding to destroy it. Now that it has been destroyed they changed the narrative. I guarantee that top to bottom the Pac had just as good a league as all the other leagues!
Now, I hope UO and UW take down the B1G every year!

Up until Willie and Mari-no-O I was happy with a top 25 recruiting class! Now we know that recruits will go to a place where they're coveted and their egos are massaged! Lanning and crew are doing an amazing job! But their recruiting doesn't stop after the signatures, they show the young men that they are worth the effort and coached up!! Let's GO DUCKS!!

That is a shock to me! Franklin is in the top 4 but got snubbed! I still believe that he IS the best receiver in the nation!

Wilner and most of us here know hiring Larry was the beginning of the end for the Pac. You can lay the blame at those feet.

The entitlement that was spewing out of their mouths was sickening. I said at least WSU invested in football before last year. That entitlement carries over to the money they want to steal from the rest of the pac.
I hope Smith goes to MSU! Then the Beavis will totally implode into obscurity they way their school administration strategies led them.

OBD have made all teams with hype around them look very pedestrian! If there was more hype surrounding the condoms I think OBD would have done the same. But the only game that was really in doubt was TT.
The Dugs will NEED to play the most complete game in order to compete in Lost Wages next Friday. The green and yellow bullet train is coming!! Let's GO DUCKS!!

Since the 2000 the school with the most post season appearances is not USC, UCLA, or UW. Oregon has been in bowls, big and small, more than any member. They are followed by USC, UCLA, and UW.
Oregon has continued to invest in the sports that makes the rest of the members money. Hayward is amazing and will continue to add value!
Since the Beavis finally invested in football last year, the 10 departing schools should just allow them to take money that it hasn't earned...that only seems right.

Nice article David! Lanning's culture is much better than the last two coaches. He makes great hires and develops great talent.
I wonder if all the kids that transferred out wished they would have stuck it out??

I LOVE it!! I have written that several times in OBD forum. Thank you Charles!!
The Beavis had every opportunity in their two best years in 2000 with their Fiesta Bowl and national ranking. Two years where they helped to contribute to the coffers of the Pac. USC, UW, UCLA, even new member Utah, and of course OBD have continually subsidized their mediocrity so they can invest in baseball (no market value).
It was said on CBS news yesterday morning the two sports that make money for every scook are: football and men's basketball. OBD have put in the effort for the Pac. So I say good riddance to the mismanaged conference!
And as many of you know the Beavis is also one of four schools that had overriding powers to hire: Lounge Suit Lawrence Scott. Thanks again the Beavis for breaking the Pac. Eat the pie that you had a hand in making!!
Let's go UW lawyers! Get the money that the schools that are leaving deserve! They can have the revenue they generate in 2024...

They should have done so when they had Erickson as their coach in 2000! They should have delved into NIL when it was allowed. They should have expanded their stadium with the money they received from the conference years ago. They should have done a LOT of things but whine and complain about Uncle Phil money. What they've done was go all in on sports that generate little to no revenue.
They're not wanted by other conferences because they have no media footprint and not a single big conference is willing to share the monies with that kind of member.
Say what you will about Nike. Phil knows about marketing and hiring good marketers. I'm glad we have Knight as an alumni over the Resers.

It started with Chip Kelly putting them in their place and calling them out on every stupid call they made. He was merciless on their incompetence. Before that I thought they were mostly fair. After that not so much when it came to OBD. Away games were bad but home games were even worse.
In spite of all those calls Chip, WT, MC, and now DL have fought through and have ended up with winning records against them. OBD will just have to endure for four more games then they'll get a fresh start in the B1G.

I like them better than the pink that OBD usually sport for the Cal game! Like I yelled during CGD when MSU was here: we own ALL green and yellow...many shades and combinations!

The best thing that can happen for OBD is the Fuskies win and they play OBD in Las Vegas. I just have a sinking feeling they will lose to the Beavis in Cowvallis--that will put OBD out of the playoffs.
