  1. Can't believe anyone would like to join the b10. Away games that the opponent has an 3 hr advantage and start at 6 or 9 am for us fans let alone the teams at 2am, and weather worse than Wazu and that's terrible.

Besides we and almost all the teams left have to small of stadiums

They would lose money on travel, ticket sales, and concessions sales to come play at our houses.

Create a West Coast Midwest conference. Make our league be more than just about money, playing by fair rules with NIL and portal. Caring and providing for the student athletes instead of a factory minor league for the NFL. Keeping the amateur history of CFB.

With 1/2 the country there would be a TV deal. Fan bases that Vow to never watch another b10 or sec games. I don't already.

This would be my solution and can't believe other Pac teams would object. It wasn't like we were competitive with the other leagues anyway.

  2. I just read that President Shill saying Oregon has no comment. I absolutely don't want to go to the b 10. I still think the rest of the PAC and Big 12 merge add SD St Nevada Boise State and Fresno State. Create 2 divisions play a championship game. We'd have 1/2 the country there would be a TV deal that would be enough for us to put a good product on the field. We probably won't get the top talent but there would be enough talent for a competitive conference in every state in the Midwest and West Coast.

Why wouldn't that be the best play here. Let USC and UCLA go to play away games get there butt handed to them and return in a 4 hr plane ride. They won't have the beef to ever compete with tOSU Mich/St Wisc PSU Iowa they will be playing away games with a 2 hr time change that will affect the Cali boys.

  3. He and McClendon recruited Franklin and Thornton. I do believe that if MC had stayed and got a healthy season most important his line which never was the same lineup for 13 games which would have helped especially in pass protection. AB got beat up in the 2nd half of the 3rd game. Came back, became skittish or scared and didn't pass it well until the 2nd half against Oklahoma except for a couple games with teams with poor pass coverage ( UCLA, Colorado, and OSU).

He needs a accurate QB that would hit the long throws with the 5 or six shots downfield he takes. I'm not going to defend MC x's and o's. MC wasn't most fans cup of tea. I get it!

I am going to suggest that if it was Franklin, Thornton, or McGee that became WR 1 they would have a shot at being drafted. All 4 years MC coached who of our WR were good enough to drafted, even if he wasn't the HC. Not a one. They weren't fast enough. Look at their times from the Combine; 4.6 4.7. Or something like that. Terrible. In fact tell me all the WR who were drafted and became pros in our history. We have been the worst of all the top programs.

What can't be denied is his connection with players. I don't believe he's a salesman who tells the recruits anything they want to hear. They have eyes and ears. They know his reputation. A hard nosed, conservative, and run first HC. Still they came.

Now at the U with mostly a completely new staff he's gotten several players who we coveted 1 last year and 3 so far this year. That's not happening because he's a liar or a bad coach.

There's 1 player in 4 yrs, Pittman, who quit on his team in midst of a 7/1 season who made this claim. A SoCal boy who quit because he wasn't getting thrown to enough before the Utah game even though 2 WRs were out and he was our #1 punt returner.

So these are my thoughts of how things went down and how they might have turned out differently. Hope they are considered.

  4. Hell I wouldn't mind being the big fish in a little pond. If they leave add San Diego State, Nevada, Boise State and Fresno State.

Then take all of the B12 merge them into West and Midwest divisions. That would be a big enough market. We stay in the same footprint. We would have our own Super Conference.

Let USC and UCLA go to B10 where they will never win. I bet the only reason the B10 would want them is the big stadium's so they wouldn't lose a lot of money on the travel and away games.

There are still enough athletes to put a good product on the field. We then could play the other super conferences champions for the natty.  Or the West Midwest has its own champion like the division 11 has. That would be sufficient for me especially if we had champions playing the other champions. Wouldn't be much different than it is right now. We could even take 2 from each for an expanded PO.

I would prefer that scenario to any others. It wouldn't ruin it for the rest of the teams who don't get to join the sec or b10

Oregon will next be in the national championship game when the have Heisman contending level QB play regardless of 58% or a 66% blue-chip ratio. We won't be in the Natty with a 75% blue chip ratio and AB type of QB play

AB wasn't the best but I don't believe we need a Heisman level QB. So no offense, but S. Bennett of UGA disproves that. Yes he had the best defense without any major injuries that I remember. He was an adequate game mgr. He and his team beat the Heisman winner admittedly with a weakened WR corp.

If AB would have been better at throwing the ball and we didn't have an unheard of amount of long-term injuries that devastated some of our key positions of LB, RB, Safeties,TE, WR, and an OL that weren't able to start the same 5 players in 13 games. Who knows if we don't make it last year. We did go into the "shoe", control the game, and beat tOSU.

I posit the lack of continuity on the OL affected our pass blocking. Which could be one of the reasons why AB wasn't better. In fact there was the sack, at the half of the 3 game, that hurt him and that's where it seemed to fall apart. He didn't seem to be the same QB until the 2nd half against Oklahoma. Was he playing hurt or just skittish and scared of TO. Our previous QB was benched for confidence problems and PIs. Or was AB just

    inconsistent.

I'm not discounting MC's problems also stopping us. If we had a better coach without a majority of the injuries would last year's team have had a chance. I definitely believe so.

So I guess I'm saying there are a lot of factors that provide for playing for a Natty and winning one.

  6. After watching what Lanning did the last 2 yrs at UGA how could any defensive player not come to Oregon. I just don't get it.

All the players say getting to the pros is #1. 5 first round draft picks. Never been done before. Lots of pics in last 2 years.

    I just don't get it!

  7. MC is one hell of a recruiter. He sure gets thru to top recruits. He's likely to pull a top 5 class this year for the U.

And that's not just because of money. Look what he did here in Oregon.

I'd probably move DJ Johnson up a spot or two.... I know it may seem nitpicky and petty but the man is a beast and a completely selfless player.

Personally I think he could have a season better than anything KT put together the past three years, especially in this new and improved defense.

So does DL. Unless it's coach speak which I doubt. Says he can be one of the best in the country if he continues to work as hard as he has.

Hicks, Greene, Gardner, Bowers all came for official visits. Greene and Gardner look like best shots at this point.

5* Hicks would be a monster get, but he is crystal balled to aTM. Out of Texas so it'll be tough but we are in the running.

Bowers is already committed to ATM so maybe if Hicks signs to ATM we can flip him or visa versa.

Maybe Dad can pull off last minute miracle just like we did with Connelly.

Womack came for a visit also and he's closer to the DL guys that Dazed is hoping for.

  10. I'm expecting immediate results. The difference in philosophy should be dramatic. Just the idea of not playing a "prevent offense" will be interesting to see.

An attacking offense will have more risks but will be a more enjoyable product on the field. Returning us to the Ducks that the rest of the country fell in love with will be a blessing and not happen soon enough.

  11. Seattle's media market is the 2 largest in the PAC's footprint. If we want the PAC to matter, UW has to put a decent product on the field as much as USC. Just not as good as the Ducks.

Their staff is also new this year. At least it's an improvement over the flake of Montelake. I hate the buttsniffers as much as anyone on the forum of decorum and know our DOMINANCE of them will continue.

But realistically they have to be in the mix for any chance of the PAC returning to relevance.
