  1. I have been wondering why the PAC doesn't seem to be on the same level as the Mid West and South in football?

Does the weather differences of Washington / Oregon wet and cold California. / Arizona hot and dry Utah / Colorado dry cold especially altitude effect how we seem to eat each other up?

Along with our 9 team league  schedule, difficulty recruiting do to population, not having a lot of those teams coming out West to play and feeding off that the time differences when we play at their stadiums.

What do u all think causes it?

  2. FB is all about talent as GA coach Kirby Smart said last week. Talent comes from population centers where kids can go play where family and friends can see them. Seattle alone has 4 Million. That's more than our entire state. That's why I believe every team in the PAC has rosters consisting mostly of California players. Which is why it is tough for the PAC to complete with the big teams back east.  And yet we sometimes can (tOSU) Hopefully the Natty comes soon.

  3. I believe the problem with the PAC Jon is as u stated earlier.$$$ spent by our Universities and a couple of other issues. When we play ooc games our team's seem to do well when we play at home in our time not EST, that the only recruiting numbers are based in California for all the teams on the West Coast and even the rest of the country.

Look at 3 of the top QBs at tOSU, OU and Clemson. All out of California. J T Tamalou  the #1 player out of Washington going to tOSU etc.

I don't believe this can be changed. Football is a religion in the Mid West and South. Just to many obstacles for the West Coast.

    Love seeing this! Thanks Charles.

Dennis Dodd of CBS in an article yesterday, stated that tOSU had a better SOS than the Ducks. Clueless!

Boy, the CT went out of its way to prop up the B1G W and set up a top 25 match up for the B1G E champ. B1G love for MN, WI and Iowa and not much for the G5 outside of the MW.

2 Mountain West teams ranked and 1 Pac-12 team? Kind of speaks for itself, no?

Follow the $. Yes, there are plenty of B1G and SEC schools ranked by the Committee. The schools in these two conferences have money to spend on football and they spend it. I just can't see the Pac-12 as currently constituted being able to compete long term against the B1G and the SEC?

I think Tucker going from CU to MI ST and Leach from WA ST to MS ST is going to happen whenever the conference of champions produces a football coach with national bona fides?

I do agree. Sad but true. I guess this answers my East Coast bias theme.

Agree the youth may be a weakness, but they also may not know they should lose. We have a bunch of student athletes who, probably, haven't lost very much. The question is do they already know what it took to win so much?  Even if they lose, with youth they can learn and get better, stronger for next time.

Georgia is a very good example where youth has had to learn the hard way over and over. It seems the program has finally realized how strong and tough you need to be. Can Oregon realize this without the learning curve, they have the opportunity, stay tuned!

Again well thought out. Does that mean like Georgia, this may not be our year until our youth learns that lesson
