  1. Bigger DB's would definitely help. In a Bowl game especially, a rough start can be really devastating. Not playing for 3 weeks, then having your first game against a team that that demolished their opponent a week earlier is a recipe for what happened in the Rose Bowl.
  2. Ohio State can't beat Oregon straight-up, they need a warm-up, home game first. The Buckeyes will probably wrap up this favorable format Playoff with the championship. Way to go #8.
  3. "Great Expectations" is not just a famous novel by Dickens, and now is the exact time a fan has one about a player leading his team to the Natty! Throw in Dakorien Moore and it's even a Rosier picture. What if Novosad does push him & even overtakes him, and he's the QB who takes OBD finally to the finish line? Not a problem.
  4. Where I'll disagree here is that DL's comments were before the game, not months afterward. If Colorado had won, DL would have definitely had some explaining to do. As it turns out, how wrong was he?
  5. Another reason, I really wouldn't mind if ND wins. Osu2 would go from completely dismissing losing to Oregon, losing to Michigan and now to Notre Dame? The chance at redemption would be now a season with 3 losses.
  6. SIDEARM Integrations GODUCKS.COM After trailing by as much as 15, the UO women buckled down on defense and came from behind to win 50-49 on Sunday.
  7. This is what I'm taking from Chip's remark. Washington isn't a blueblood, osu2 is a higher graded hater.
  8. I didn't want Chip to come back. No doubt he was incredibly successful, but that was a time, circumstances that would not be repeated. What would be repeated for sure would have been Chip's complete disdain for recruiting. Osu2 recruits well enough that he doesn't have to do involve himself; that was a line that made him feel good.
  9. The loss isn't all on Shelstad, but as the PG, he is the leader and the player most responsible when the offense goes stagnant. When you watch teams in the process of winning. the ball is moving, the players are moving. What I remember most from Ernie is hearing him constantly shouting, "Move". Purdue is not a speed machine, but their movement, ball, player, created open shots at the basket and on the perimeter, also put them in position for the offensive rebounds. A lot easier to do everything when you're active, rather than 4 guys standing still waiting for the ball. Bamba should have a red light anytime he's more than 3 feet from the basket. Shelstad needs to shoot, but as Point, the responsibility of getting the offense to move is his.
  10. That nails it. I still want and think osu2 will beat Notre Dame, but this makes a ND win more palatable. A lot of time, games have gone by since "Scoreboard" Oregon beat osu2, why does Chip bring that up now?
  11. When a team holds the opponent to 34% shooting, they'll win, unless that opponent gets 12 offensive rebounds. "Second chance points hurt us," Altman said, "Going to have to get on the boards and get the ball inside to Nate (Bittle) inside." Oregon Ducks Basketball Loses To Purdue Boilermakers, Offense Struggles WWW.SI.COM The Oregon Ducks hosted the Purdue Boilermakers on Saturday afternoon. It was a top-25 matchup in the Big Ten with the Ducks...
  12. I was hoping for a UNC-The U match-up, but that might have to wait until the CCG. Belichick>Cristobal.
  13. Lately, it's publicity. No team is talked about more, and winning less, than, "America's Team"
  14. My thought is we'll find out how good a coach, "I win, google me" Cignetti is next season.
  15. The really bad shooting, jacking up 3's is very poor offensive possessions, offensive possessions do fall on the point guard. Oregon's lack of offensive rebounds is a large part, lack of effort, turnovers also are a lack of focus. Wins cover up a lot of problems.
  16. I actually think the last thing MKA needs is "Luxury" boxes. They already went Luxury in designing MKA as differently from Mac Court as possible. As prescient Gertrude Stein said, "There's no there, there"
  17. It happens again, poor shooting, 36%, 5 offensive rebounds. Purdue actually shot worse, 34% but had 12 offensive rebounds. 17 fouls on Purdue, 23 on Oregon. Two Flagrant 1's on the Ducks.
  18. UCLA snapped its 4 game losing streak, beating Iowa, 94-70 in Pauley Pavilion.
  19. 2 out of 3 picks on ESPN Basketball Gameday went to Oregon, "Oregon's size and physicality".
  20. Well, done, Beavers, last night Oregon State beat Gonzaga, 97-89 in OT, just making the Ducks' win over them, in November, look even better.
  21. That'll work! Travis Hunter?
  22. Purdue is 0-2 on the road, Oregon's 2 losses have been at home. Two Boilermakers are included in ESPN's "Top 50" 27. Trey Kaufman-Renn, Purdue Boilermakers No player in the country had bigger shoes to fill than Kaufman-Renn, who took over for Zach Edey, the first two-time Wooden Award winner in 40 years. Though Kaufman-Renn isn't Edey, he has been an elite post presence for the Boilermakers. On his first three possessions in Sunday's win over Nebraska, Kaufman-Renn scored on a floater in the lane, a jump shot and a putback off his own missed shot. He has made 62% of his shots inside the arc this season while averaging 17.5 points and 6.2 rebounds. -- Medcalf and 6. Braden Smith, Purdue Boilermakers For the past two seasons, Smith had the luxury of playing with Zach Edey, a two-time Wooden Award winner. The absence of a player in that realm tends to affect point guards more than anyone else because it disrupts the high-low game a team can implement when they have a dominant force in the paint. Yet, Smith is even better this season without Edey. The Boilermakers entered the week on a five-game winning streak, a stretch during which Smith produced 57 assists. (Yes, 57.) Trey Kaufman-Renn has been a breakthrough star with Smith's help; Fletcher Loyer has made 49% of his 3-point attempts. All of it comes in a scheme that's led by Smith, who looks like the country's best pure point guard. -- Medcalf How to watch Oregon Ducks vs. Purdue Boilermakers men's basketball game AUTZENZOO.COM The Oregon men's basketball team is back in action as the No. 13 Ducks host the No. 17 Purdue Boilermakers at Matthew Knight...
  23. He is great on the radio and Luke and Luke were amazing, Jackson in particular in the NIT semi-final game against Colorado in 2003.
  24. The one positive that could come out of this disastrous format is the elimination of Conference Championship Games. It's ridiculous that am undefeated team would have to play in one, of course it was Oregon. If somehow 2 teams went through undefeated, that's what tiebreakers are for.
