Oh Brother..."New Look" Pac-12 Invites Texas State, But...
I can't knock it. The conference needed another team to meet the requirements and every conference needs a bottom team. They were not going to find a contender this year. By joining, Texas State will improve their recruiting chops, though not this season. We all knew the membership was not going to rival what blew up for several years at the minimum. Clearly there is a lot of room to improve before the PAC?? is relevant again. Strength of schedule for the champ is not going to be favorable but there are at least a couple of teams who could get a natty shot.

Where Oregon Transfers are in 2025
Oregon is definitely on the right side of the envy line as far as who is coming and going. I don't expect anyone coming in during the new extra portal chance for no roster players to find ne homes. After all, the idea is to trim the roster and almost all the players entering the tunnel have not made rosters of the teams they are on.

Whoa! An Interesting Name Transferring to Oregon...
I love the hept and Decath presence added to what we saw this spring. The Ducks can pick up some natty points. I doubt we'll see him on the gridiron but who knows. Fish is right that he helps glue his brother's commitment.

Regret Is Such A Bitter Pill: Stay Frosty, Coach
seems to be a pattern for Frost. He makes teams better by leaving.

House v. NCAA Settlement Payments on Hold Amid Legal Challenge from Female Athletes on Title IX Grounds
Who could have seen this coming :)

Penn St Listed as a 4.5 Point Favorite Over Ducks.
PSU is certainly not invincible in the white out games. Them having the favor is more likely to cause a slight overconfidence and build a chip on Oregon's shoulder. The most interesting thing is that BYE. Will it create a loss of momentum or a gain in preparation? Oregon will be a new enough in Offense and Defense the Lines may need the extra practice. My take is that this is another of those visits to a B1G fortress where the Ducks will be able to storm the gates and ruin the winning percentage of the talking heads' game day predictions. We have a lot to see until my guess dissipates or solidifies. If either team has a loss before this game it will shake the foundation and change the picture in a big way. Otherwise it's a GAMEDAY visit, baby.

Happy Fourth Of July!!! Today The Great One Returns...
Gluttony, TV, Ice hockey, football ... any thing. Good for them. I'm not competing for the title in anything. They're all enjoying what they do, more than 15 minutes of fame in their pockets. 🙂

of course the organization I referred to was tha NCAA, not the NCC if that even exists 🙂

House v. NCAA Settlement Payments on Hold Amid Legal Challenge from Female Athletes on Title IX Grounds
I can't see much more happening than a LOT of litigation and possibly the end of the NCAA with a football group being created with no other sports included. It may become a 4 to 6 or 8 regional split up of teams. Oregon would be back on the West Coast or Northwest region and probably fine with a split of the annual revenue this set-up would gather in. The NCAA could probably not survive without football money so it will be interesting to see what happens to all the other sports, basketball probably leading the financial contribution to whatever develops. Would the universities be forced somehow to put money from football back into the other sports? Could they if there was no functional NCC or they just plain were no longer part of it? Would so many scholarships for many just disappear? Would other 'organizations' develop for baseball, basketball (men and women or just men?)? It's really a lot to take in but I think this decision may kill college sports rather than 'help' them. Even if none of this happens, Title IX is going to be a big firecracker in the toilet and probably reformatted in the end. About the only thing I am sure of is that football will survive and thrive. It's too big to kill.

Championship You Most Desire
Can't argue with those numbers but I can still remember how many times he broke our hearts and killed important drives with fumbles.

North Carolina GM:" Belichick, Hudson Noise"
He'd better be more than a GM if he want's to coach UNC very long. I'm predicting he'll be back on the market soon and his next connection won't be quite as young and clueless. He's younger than I am and his girl is older than my grandchildren but not by much.

Oregon's Pitching Coach Headed to Oklahoma State
Don't know why and it does scare me a little but I have confidence that Waz has enough of the right contacts to get a strong replacement. OK State is not a step up, so something is going on. Could be money or a coming shot at a head coach soon. I don't follow the college game that closely and I haven't hunted down any OK city papers to see what they have to say.

Oh Beavis... Bringing Texas State to Your Bogus Conference?
The thing is the PAC?? has to have enough teams to qualify as a conference or they will drop a load of money and there is not a long list jumping onto that broken wheeled bandwagon. That, the fact that every conference has a last place team, and more often the conference lifts up a team than a team drags down a conference make Texas State an acceptable choice. The new PAC isn't going recreate a power five but has enough quality to not be a minor conference. I doubt they'll ever be a power again but they might get to the level of a BIG12 with some luck and a lot of work.
