Are the above programs much worse than the current and future PAC-12 programs?
I'd bet that the last two the Scrap-12 goes after is Nevada, to make a UNLV move easier, or if they can move them without the Wolfpack, then San Jose State and they will cite the Silicon Valley audience. (Right!)

I will admit that I am getting to that point as well, and that is saying something! They are a G-5 team, and there is no amount of lipstick that will change that. We know it, and everyone knows it; let them pretend--who cares?
But we should not lose money any further playing them in Corvallis, let alone Eugene. The originally scheduled game against Texas Tech would have pulled a TON more eyes to Oregon's game that week.

Ditto for Bryon Addison, a safety at UCLA. We sure could have used him playing Washington in 2022, and 2023...but while he would have played a ton, he wasn't starting.
So now he gets to start for the Bruins. He sure showed us!

The difference in ratings between the B1G and Big-12 games versus anything with the G-5 teams? Whew!
Thank you HDuck, as that tells the entire story of why the Scrap-12 will never be more than just a new G-6 team.
And we lose money playing them versus a P-4 opponent!

No sweat, it took seconds, and do know that you edit a post up to an hour later. Just click on the three dots in the upper right corner of your post and you’ll see an option to edit.
I fix stuff like that often, and titles that others write that don’t tell the reader enough about the thread. Web behavior is readers want to know what is in a thread before they open it, and I’ve told people umpteen times how to do it, and nobody does it, so when I have time, I just fix them.
It’s all about the reader, as I would like to know what’s in a thread before I open it as well.
Not a big deal, as we love your comments here, and look forward to seeing a Georgia victory this weekend!

I like Friday games, in particular because you have the potential of an incredibly massive audience watching your team.
I do not know what the numbers were, but I have to think there was a pretty good audience for that Illinois and Nebraska game.
I am much more open to a Friday game, then I am an 8 o’clock start at home on a Saturday night!

Check again. Where I am in Eugene, the Oregon game is on Fox, and the Washington State-Boise State game is on Fox Sports 1.

I think we all had an awakening when learning we don't even start our game until 8:00 PM Saturday night. It is insane, and yet now I see it was part of the plan by Fox. Any other conference playing at night out west will not compete with a late B1G football telecast. Great ratings for Colorado State versus Fresno State? I don't think so...
The B1G games at night will dominate ratings in that time slot.
Especially when it is the LA market, the Seattle market, and the Oregon Brand. We will bring tons of eyeballs to daytime games, but really B1G numbers on the west coast at night. I'll bet you're all getting that sinking feeling, (as I am) that when we play the LA teams or Washington....it will be at night.
It makes perfect sense for Fox.

by Fox. Yet knowing that--I would still take the
deal to be with the B1G, and all the benefits
that come with it.

Actually, I did not come up with the word, "Scrap" as 30Duck did. I give full credit to him!
And he has a track record of coming up with innovative names for things. For example, it was he who was the first to label the Cristobal offense at Oregon as, "the Prevent Offense." (So perfect!)
It was also 30Duck who came up with our favorite slogan for this forum as he coined, "the forum-with-decorum." Thus why I give credit where due, as he has a flair for these titles!

Well, if they reverse merged, then the Pig-2 only have claim to 1/12th of the Pac-12 assets, versus getting half each the assets and future revenue flow off the photo/video archives if they retaining the Pac-12 name.
