The First Time I've Questioned Justin Herbert's Judgment...
In the Manosphere, we refer to it as the "White Knight" trap that so many men fall into. Regardless of gender--you can only find happiness and healing within yourself, or find it by yourself. We cannot change others...

The First Time I've Questioned Justin Herbert's Judgment...
Nope. I thought that for the first 20 years as well. But with some women...you can never make them happy, and you lose who you are as you try. (Don't ask me how I know) But I should not delve into mens/womens issues here beyond the jesting that has taken place. Gender Equality in Warnings: Women should RUN from men who are a narcissist or abusive, while men should RUN from women who are Borderline Personality Disorder, or Bi-Polar.

Will Stein on the "Most Consistent Receiver," and Tasty Stuff About Dante Moore...
Max Torres does a great job at On3, and I always encourage people to join the membership sites for great reporting. I cannot copy the whole article, but a couple of tasty tidbits were pretty cool... On Who’s Stood Out as Consistent at Receiver: Stein: “Gary Bryant is one of the most consistent football players I’ve ever been around. He’s a complete pro. He does everything you ask him to do. He blocks his a** off. He runs routes at the specific depth. He catches the ball, makes plays, good with the ball in hand. I was really saddened that he couldn’t have an impact on our team like he wanted to, like we wanted to last season because of injuries. And I would have loved to have him Tez (Johnson), Traeshon (Holden), all those guys out there have been working together, but obviously injuries plagued him last season, so I think he’s in a great spot mentally, physically. He’s super gifted. I mean, the guys made plays here in ’23 and he had 40 something catches, 500 yards. He’s extremely consistent, and it starts with his prep. He’s definitely I would say the leader of that group, and not just vocally, but just how he approaches every single day.” On What He’s Seen Translate From Dante Moore‘s Skillset at Oregon Stein: “What I saw when I turned on the tape—-wow throws like, oh my gosh. Like, dang, that was a ball. When those kept showing up on the completions, some corner routes or scramble throws, you’re like this guy’s got elite arm talent. And I’d previously known Dante, because, if you remember, when I got here, he was committed. So I went to MLK and went to Detroit, like two times that I was allowed to when I first got here. So knowing him, knowing his family, knowing the people around him, his high school coaches—I knew he was about the right stuff. “It just it didn’t translate to UCLA and not because of lack of scheme. I think we all know Chip Kelly is a great coach, and I just don’t think he had the players around him that you need, if you’re a true freshman, to go be super successful. So when he has gotten here, you could see his talent has flourished. He’s so humble. He’s willing to learn. He reminds me, he’s a great blend of like Bo (Nix) football IQ and Dillon (Gabriel) can pull everybody together, which is really unique and special. I think I’ve said it in here before, but he wears five, he’s got glove on his left hand I played with Teddy Bridgewater. He does remind me a lot of Teddy. That’s a lofty comparison for me, but he’s just got that kind of that moxie about him. That IT factor that people just gravitate towards.” Gary Bryant Jr. (Remember that as a true freshman at USC--he had more catches than any Oregon receiver that year)

National Perception: Oregon Has WORK to Do...
Well, the only one I have is at QB. Our defense is going to be sneaky-good, and our offense will score more-than-enough points through the season, and peak in the Playoffs. Boettcher creates a fumble!

National Perception: Oregon Has WORK to Do...
There was a new article out on The Athletic, where they give their predictions on the 'Natty, with their entire staff voting on it. Oregon is not even in the running for the 'Natty? Huh. Looks like some see Oregon like the past....

Uhh, When is Lanning Going to Announce QB1?
I predict Danno will announce a starter going into game week, and it will be Moore. On another site, the inside stuff from the Scrimmage leaked out this morning, and I was going to wait a day before reporting it--but apparently Dante had a great Saturday scrimmage, and many on the inside believe that it gave a big edge to Moore.

Josh Pate Predicts 2025 Big-10 Champion: Penn State Over Oregon
In an On3 article today, he believes that there will be a rematch in the B1G championship game of last year, and this time James Franklin will break through. We gotta do it on the field! Enough of the jibber-jabber. Oregon will have a sneaky-good defense this year...

Rumblings About a True Freshman We May See on the Field Early....
Everyone is familiar with Dak Moore at receiver, and Na'eem Offord at corner getting good looks in fall camp as true freshmen, but another player has surfaced and may upset the depth chart. There were rumors about many of the faster running backs going out for passes in practice, and actually lining up in the slot this fall--as a new wrinkle by OC Will Stein. There have been murmurs about freshman RB Dierre Hill doing some explosive things in the practices. Now I knew from my coaching contact in Illinois where Hill is from that he is the "real" deal, and the coach/Duck-Buddy attested to this recruit being under-emphasized in the recruiting reports. Many of you will recall how I was promoting this young man, as someone to keep an eye on. When signed, he was 5'10" and 180 pounds; he is now up to 205 pounds with superb speed, agility and jump-cuts? And apparently he can catch the ball out of the backfield nicely, and is difficult to tackle in the open field. Again...these are rumblings, murmurs, and rumors at this point. (Did I get all the CYA words right?) We will need to see performance on the field, of course. But this is a B1G part of my entertainment, and that is watching for new players emerge, get their confidence, and watch their progress. As I said...this could really disrupt the RB depth chart if this pans out. What? He ran for 438 yards and six touchdowns in the State Championship game? He is No. 10 below...and has a stiff-arm like Jeremiah Johnson, (2007) and a limp-leg drop like Saladin McCullough of 1998. He can make tremendous cut-backs across the field, or in linebacker-land to extend a play. Oh baby....time for some FOOTBALL! In these highlights--he has it all at the HS level. He is elusive, can catch the ball, has acceleration, and breaks tackles with power. Whew! I've heard his first name pronounced, "Dare," and "Dee-air" and I imagine it won't be long before we learn the correct version!

B1G Surprise: Oregon, West Coast Teams Dominate Big-10
Ha! You made me laugh out loud with the beautiful logic that you used. But we don’t determine a regular season champion in football, it is determined by the top two who then play thus I cannot call it a regular season and tournament separately. In fact, I do not recall anybody declaring a regular season champion, unless you prefer to Rick Neuheisel and his Pacific Northwest championship? Great ponder point!

The Truth Emerges: What REALLY Happened at the Rose Bowl...
So, when Ohio State came to the LOS in a particular formation--we countered. Then by studying us, Chip came back with a "counter-to-the-counter," and that is just great coaching. Did we continue to blunder into those same errors in the second half? No. Keep in mind that the damage was done in the first half....those three touchdowns referred to. In the second half, Oregon outscored Ohio State, and as lame as that sounds--it is true. So we did do some adjustments, but not enough, as the Buckeyes were a good team.

The Truth Emerges: What REALLY Happened at the Rose Bowl...
First of all, I got this from Canzano today. I continue to subscribe because he does give us good takes on Oregon, but I have to live with his bootlicking of Beavis and his fans. His newsletter/email today was mostly nonsense about the "New-World Pac-12" (New is not always better!) and legal mashinations. He did confirm that the Pac-12 members expect 8-9 million a year from their media contract. Whew! Below is what he offered from his long interview with Tosh Lupoi, and I have to hand it to John...he got information we did not know for certain until now. JH: Lupoi’s defense was outstanding for most of last season. In nine of 13 games last season, Oregon’s opponents scored 18 or fewer points. But Penn State put up more than 500 yards and scored 37 points in the Big Ten title game (an Oregon win), and Ohio State scored 41 in the Rose Bowl (an Oregon loss). I asked Lupoi what he learned in those two postseason games. He said that Ohio State Offensive Coordinator Chip Kelly figured some things out after the regular-season matchup in Eugene. The Buckeyes noticed that the Ducks’ defense made pre-snap “checks” that were advantageous in Oregon’s 32-31 win in Eugene. In the second meeting, Ohio State baited UO’s defense into those pre-snap “checks” but were ready with on-the-fly adjustments that resulted in big plays. “They did a great job of getting us into those checks and then really game-planning those checks,” Lupoi said. “And three touchdowns alone were within those checks.” How does Oregon (and Lupoi) grow from that? “Well, we can still have a defense that’s made up of those checks that helped us win and attack and play really well,” he said, “but also have come up with some new calls where you can just play out the integrity of the defense and not get in a check.” Lupoi said “self-scouting” was a big piece of the offseason for him.

I Think This is Too Funny to Bury in Another Thread
Washington tried to claim at the time that Oregon was GREEN with Penix-Envy. I thought that was a pretty clever joke from those bastards!
