  1. A really good summary of what to expect and watch for--thanks.
  2. "It feels like a waste of my time watching these games." When a conference beat-writer is starting to share this....yikes. (Now I do have my doubts about his dedication to the conference and his craft, but....) He does make some very interesting points, and Oregon is front-and-center in the conversation. Whew! 3 Reasons Why Pac-12 Football Sucks by Nick Bartlett of Oregon Sports News
  3. You are a great long term fan Annie...not many people recall Joe Farwell. Toughest LB by the pound...
  4. A Duck-Buddy mentioned it on the phone yesterday and I've been thinking about how Thibs was limping coming off the field for his limited reps versus Arizona, and was not the pass-rush factor we needed against Stanford. We don't think his ankle is 100%...how about you?
  5. I have been impressed with the Athlon pre-game analyses, and their comment about the Cal pass rush might raise some eyebrows. And I personally think we are quite lucky to have Jamal Hill to replace Bennett Williams, as we will be just fine at that spot. I worry more about our linebackers and defensive line. Thoughts? California vs. Oregon Football Prediction and Preview by Kyle Kensing of Athlon Sports
  6. While the article is about his rising draft position--there is good analysis about him. Good publicity for the Oregon defense? VERONE MCKINLEY III SOARING UP 2022 NFL DRAFT BOARDS by Brentley Weissman of The Draft Network
  7. I am surprised with his take, but see his reasoning--although I wonder if he watched the Stanford game?
  8. Steven A., Steven A., Steven A.! Read my post again please, as I am NOT discussing uniforms, but what people wear to the game. That color is in the background for photos and on television, and yellow looks best, IMHO. I even provided photos with cool colors in the background to demonstrate my point and it had nothing to do with uniforms.
  9. You strike your deal when you are the hottest....and the Trojans are not that currently. Win big and often as they did with Pete Carrol, and then the timing makes more sense, IMHO.
  10. Very cool, and thanks for posting it! I cannot believe the names below Justin on that list? Brady? Rodgers? Mahomes? Whew! Gotta enjoy this while we can...
  11. Way to go Annie, making sure your seats are filled; I did the same thing as I cannot go to the game, get home at midnight here in Eugene, and then start all my game/article/video/photographer tasks at that hour. I'm getting too old for that!
  12. My friends....I am not an artist, and do not have any flair at all in that direction. But being a publisher for ten years....I know what looks best on television and in the background for pictures. The best pictures have a rich and colorful background of color--like what you see in the background of the picture behind this site at the 'Shoe. Wearing black for TV (like this Friday) is just a dud, but when we wear YELLOW....it really stands out and looks cool in all venues. This is not rocket science, and I have no idea why they are not promoting yellow ALL the time? It is the rich colors of not only Oregon, but the crowds at away games...all that color is just so epic. I hope you enjoy the incredible colors below brought by the photographers of FishDuck over the last decade...
  13. criticalduck! Great to see you here, and great post. I sadly agree with your opinion about Brown, as I saw way too many bad decisions that hurt Oregon. Keep posting!
  14. Jon, I think you came up with a really good candidate, but I cannot help but wonder if he would not just use the LSU/USC jobs for leverage to get his contract increased? I recall reading his story, and I believe he is an MSU guy who coached for them 20 years ago under Saban, and thus may be inclined to stay if the money is in the upper range? (Although he went to Wisconsin) These are crazy conversations, but I cannot help but wonder if a coach is better for 5.5 million at a school where they give him extra time to turn it around when they run into a bad patch, (as Notre Dame did for Brian Kelly) than go into a pressure-cooker for 8 million per year? Crazy numbers...
  15. Haywarduck....awesome research, commentary and meme! I learned a ton there, so THANKS.
  16. Killer swimming and water polo; I believe they actually have more NCs than we do over time...
  17. No sweat, but please do keep posting news you see. Everyone...do your part and bring news here for the benefit of everyone and do start up topics/threads to get us pondering and discussing!
  18. Yep...I posted his quote yesterday in a post here...
  19. GREAT post, and you are killing-it these days. We gotta show others how to create those memes as you do...
  20. (Press Release from Oregon Athletics) SAN FRANCISCO – Senior Will Richardson was named to the Pac-12 preseason all-conference first team, while junior transfers Quincy Guerrier and De’Vion Harmon earned second team honors, the league announced Wednesday morning. In addition, two-time defending conference champion Oregon was picked to finish second in the Pac-12, receiving two first place votes. The Ducks have now been picked inside the top four in seven consecutive preseason polls. It is the second straight preseason first team honor for Richardson, who averaged 11.3 points, 3.9 assists and 3.4 rebounds per game last season, helping the team advance to the Sweet Sixteen. He enters the season with a chance to move into Oregon’s career top 10 lists in steals, assists, three-point field goal percentage and wins. Guerrier recorded eight double-doubles and four 20-point games for Syracuse last season, helping the Orange secure a birth in the Sweet Sixteen. Earning third team All-ACC honors, Guerrier averaged 13.7 points, 8.4 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per game. Harmon reached double figures in 19 games, including four 20-point outings for Oklahoma last season. He earned All-Big 12 honorable mention with averages of 12.9 points, 3.4 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.1 steals per game. 2021-22 PAC-12 MEN'S BASKETBALL PRESEASON MEDIA POLL Team (first place votes) 1. I am not surprised that Will Richardson was named to the first team, but two of our transfers....who have not played for us yet made the second team? Whew! They must be pretty-darn-good!
  21. I want to really thank Coach Chuck Smith for his insight, his article and the time he is giving us as a volunteer moderator. Can any of you spare some hours out of the 168 hours each week? It is easy work, reading comments as you normally would...email me! The Coach and I could not believe the timing of this article, as the Counter is his favorite play, and both Texas and the Chargers used it to win just this last weekend! You rarely get recent examples of what you are trying to convey in an article like that very often. If you look at all the links--there are so many variations of the Counter can mess defenses up who try to stop it. But with the basics? Who can forget Washington Redskins and the "Hogs" blocking for John Riggins in the famous "Counter Trey?"
  22. He's got a good gig making 8 million a year...why would he leave?
  23. Another best case scenario is Ty Thompson allowed to play long enough to set things on fire...and another Joey Harrington replacing AJ Feeley story happens again to win games for Our Beloved Ducks!
