Best Oregon Uniforms Since 2010? Cool Choices...
Charles Fischer replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
You want to play THAT game? You got ugly uniforms? I got uglier yet! This (above) is from 2015, and I knew I did not like them from the moment I saw them... Is there a pattern here? Grey uniforms are LOSERS! -
Feedback Requested: How Long to Edit a Post?
Charles Fischer replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I will say that it is longer than five minutes now with an adjustment today, but then I thought I would check for opinions and design it for the needs of the community. Hence this thread... -

My Friends, we are working at the fine points of the forum, to decide on how we want to do things. The time set for editing a post after you started it was five minutes, and many wrote that it was not enough time to make the changes. The challenge I have are people adding bad stuff to their post after they think a moderator has looked at it, and then all the new readers of that thread are exposed to the Troll's nonsense. But Jon Sousa asked, and ICamel answered that we can help the community by reporting any inappropriate content in a post by clicking on the three dots in the corner of a post you are reading, and then click on "Report" (As you see above) and write a brief report of the issue in the window that comes up. All reporting is confidential and it helps keep our community clean in a much faster way. So if people are reporting the occasional post that has bad stuff stuck in later, the question is..."how long should the editing window be for members who just posted." For me--I do proofreading and editing immediately, and I would hope most people do that. Realistically, we cannot leave the editing open longer than an hour, and I am not sure that amount of time is needed. A half hour has been suggested the most often, but let me know your thoughts because I feel that the more I know...the better I can set it up to serve everyone the best. Feedback please! I know...I'm going crazy on the GIFs. It is new and fun and I'll tone it down. (Later)

Best Oregon Uniforms Since 2010? Cool Choices...
Charles Fischer posted a topic in Our Beloved Ducks
You know...they have a lot of cool uniforms in this article, but not all the best ones, IMHO. The reason is that there are so many! Which is your favorite? This is one of my favorites, the "Confederate" of yellow, silver and grey. BTW...that Nevada uniform looked better than what they wore last year with a grey helmet...uuggh. -
Has Todd McShay Doomed Penei Sewell's NFL Career?
Charles Fischer replied to 30Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Now I get it....after his analysis of Justin Herbert...this could be the kiss of drafting death! -
I am really rooting for this to get him out of all the discussions of college coaching openings such as USC! I do not want to even picture him with the Trojans....

Who Is Going To Be The Ducks Quarterback In 2021?
Charles Fischer replied to 30Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Please, please, PLEASE report something as soon as you see it. If we are all looking out for the benefit of the community by helping to keep it all clean--it works better, more people of those we want will be attracted, and we have virtuous circle of building a wonderful community. Gotta stop those Trolls... -
2020 Ducks Rushing Historically Weak
Charles Fischer replied to Duckman's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Chip was superb at going into what I called, "turtle-time" when he wanted to run out the clock. It can be done with the Shotgun offenses as not only are teams doing it, but all the new wrinkles make it easier. The nine minute drive to win the Cal game in Berkeley in 2010 is the best example. We did not score, but ended the game and it was a beautiful thing.... -

Great example; they have a system, and even their conference foes that know it is coming...cannot stop it due to the execution. -
2020 Ducks Rushing Historically Weak

First of all....Outstanding post! Second....to me the answer is much bigger than the running backs, as it is the offensive system. The Shotgun Zone-Read produced an average of 43 points a game for a nine year period of 2008-2016, (When Chip Kelly and Mark Helfrich ran the offense) and we won the conference rushing title every year for nine years when prior to that we had not over 30 years. That offense worked, and still does with so many teams doing well with it. Helfrich had a much more balanced offense with Mariota and the passing attack that could have been developed now with the new variations discovered could have been lethal. Mirabal has a history at every place he has been as an offensive line coach of the rushing yards declining from his first year, and we are on that track I see! The irony is rich; the guy who wants to run the ball the most, does it the worst in nearly two decades. He would rather be tough than smart! Cristobal does not want to do what was done before here on offense out of pride, that he is "not succeeding off of Chip's coat-tails" and doing it his way. He does not have a system or a way that works... Sorry to keep harping on this, but in just Cristobal's third game at Oregon in 2018....I wrote that, "this offense will not take us to the promised land." That remains true. -
That is a great article--thanks for sharing it!

Oregon’s program was successful early on in the season thanks to the vast array of new and returning contributors on offense, but this abundance of variety also had points of faltering in recent outings. Not having that “go to” player leaves the offense guessing as much as the defense on what they should run in a make-or-break situation, and potentially could ... Read the full article here...

This was my first post where I designed it almost like an article with pictures throughout. The process is cumbersome compared to creating an article on FishDuck, but I am pleased with a "first-effort," especially since I am not tech-intuitive. But I thought some of those Kelly Graves quotes were something everyone would want to see. Thorburn is great, and I appreciate his work.
