  1. Warning! This is according to the Michigan Maize+Brew site. Buckeyes Wire and Eleven Warriors Buckeyes sites might have a different opinion. 😁 Preseason Big Ten football head coaching power rankings WWW.MAIZENBREW.COM Where does Sherrone Moore land prior to the season? The author does not pull any punches in his analysis of B1G head coaches. Cruel to UCLA's Foster and PJ Fleck among others. Michigan's Moore did well last season as a head coach pinch hitter but No. 3 in his first season replacing Harbaugh seems a tad high.
  2. Tick Tock the clock is ticking for Mari(o) Friedlander: Mario Cristobal was hired by Miami to win championships … and the clock is ticking SATURDAYROAD.COM Cristobal didn't come back to his alma mater to play in the Pinstripe Bowl. He returned to win championships. And not in the future. The time is now. And, he definitely was not hired to take a loss vs Rutgers in the Pinstripe Bowl.
  3. Come On Man! College Football News has Ohio State 12-0, Michigan 10-2, Penn State 10-2, and Oregon 9-3 in the regular season. Too much love for the Old and not enough for the New. https://collegefootballnews.com/college-football/2024-big-ten-football-win-totals-predictions-odds-consensus-picks

Keep up with the latest storylines, expert analysis, highlights and scores for all your favorite sports. 3 of the top 4 Ds play ball in the B1G.
  5. Even if approved, the House Settlement leaves lots of questions to answer. NCAA, college leaders file landmark agreement in antitrust cases; here's what was settled and what's next SPORTS.YAHOO.COM In the wake of a settlement in the House, Hubbard and Carter cases, the courts now hold significant oversight over what college sports will look like in the future.
  6. I like the Ducks brotherly love. A WR has an upfront and personal ability to judge the play of DBs. Oregon wideout Traeshon Holden singles out Jabbar Muhammad as best DB in college football WWW.ON3.COM Holden was ready to stump for his new teammate amid a crowded field of top defensive backs in college football in 2024.
  7. Football, Baseball, and many other sports will see scholarship limits increase. Football roster sizes will be cut. Major changes are coming for football and baseball as NCAA updates scholarship rules GARNETANDCOCKY.COM The NCAA is shifting its policies and adding to its current scholarship allowances for Division-1 athletics departments. There will be unexpected 'fallout' if the House settlement is approved.
  8. Oregon Ducks, SC's 2024 schedule gives SC a chance, even if in the minds of the media it's not a B1G chance. SC does not play Ohio State or Oregon in 2024. SC's schedule strength is goosed by playing LSU and Notre Dame out of conference. A loss or even two losses OOC will not impact the conference race. Notre Dame visits LA for the last regular season game. There is a lot of football to be played before the Domers come to Tinsel Town. In even years the Ducks have 5 conference home games. SC is on the road for 5 games in even years but on the whole, the road games are not that difficult. Troy makes a 3M road game circuit: Michigan, Minnesota, and Maryland. SC also plays UW in Seattle and the Rose Bowl vs. UCLA. Penn State, Wisconsin, Nebraska, and Rutgers, all visit LA. With The Grinch Who Stole Defense gone, SC made tackles in space vs Louisville. And SC's speed advantage in the Holiday Bowl was obvious. SC has a Blue Chip Roster and few 'traditional teams' in the B1G can match SC's speed. Will a total coaching change on the D side of the ball make a difference on both lines of scrimmage? We'll get an early look in 2024 when SC opens against LSU, a team that also had a suspect D in 2023 and like SC has made significant coaching changes on defense. If QB Miller Moss can come close to his Holiday performance, SC has the chance to go 10-2.
  9. No Joy in Trojan Land. 😁 But with no Oregon or Ohio State, on the 2024 schedule. Penn State, Nebraska, Wisconsin, and Rutgers (?) in LA? USC does not get the benefit of the doubt in early Big Ten poll TROJANSWIRE.USATODAY.COM Big Ten pundits don’t think USC is one of the big boys — not this year, at least.

  12. It wasn't All Good across town. Lincoln Riley finding his voice at USC, but meeting $100 million expectations is not coming as easily - CBSSports.com WWW.CBSSPORTS.COM "We're coming quickly," Riley says, but at success-starved USC, it can't come quick enough Is a Jimbo-like buyout coming? Or, does SC with a new D staff and missing the Ducks and Buckeyes compete for the C1G title?
  13. I like this balanced take from CBS Sports. UCLA coach DeShaun Foster is more than an awkward moment at Big Ten Media Days - CBSSports.com WWW.CBSSPORTS.COM DeShaun Foster was nervous before his first carry in 1998 and he was nervous again Wednesday. But after an uncomfortable press conference, the UCLA head coach showed who he really is Foster has UCLA's 2025 recruiting inside the top 40. UCLA's recruiting disappeared under Chip. Jim Mora recruited successfully at UCLA and I believe Foster will, with even half-decent booster support, do the same.
  14. CBS Sports post-media days B1G winners and losers. Maryland and Rutgers benefit from Big Ten expansion in 2024 season, while Purdue faces a daunting climb - CBSSports.com WWW.CBSSPORTS.COM The conference eliminating divisions has created an entirely different landscape for some Big Ten teams Four more teams make it harder on all of the B1G teams.

  19. OBD will be the 4th stop on the Big Ten Network's (BTN) Fall Camp Bus Schedule. On Saturday, 8/3/24, the stop in Eugene will be shown on BTN. The tour begins in Minnesota on July 31st. The BTN's last bus stop is Northwestern on August 21, 2024. We haven't kicked off and it's already B1G!
  20. Danno was outstanding in Indy. But this guy stole the show in the Hoosier's home state. Indiana’s Curt Cignetti didn’t intend to roast UCLA football TROJANSWIRE.USATODAY.COM Indiana’s head coach didn’t mean to roast UCLA, but people still laughed. Thie Rose Bowl comment did not sound 'unintentional' to me.
  21. Corvallis, the capital of negativity. Jonathan Smith exit to Michigan State and Big Ten was messy TROJANSWIRE.USATODAY.COM It might surprise people outside Corvallis, but Oregon State fans remain unhappy with Jonathan Smith. Is anyone on the Forum surprised by this?
  22. 2 great comments, thanks. I agree with your thoughts on Jimbo. For most of his time at FSU he had a significant roster advantage. Under Mike Elko and if the QB stays healthy, in 2024 A+M could be a much-improved team. I will not be surprised if A+M defeats Notre Dame in the opener. A+M is a raucous environment and fired-up fans will be juiced up by Game Day being on site. The ND QB, Riley Leonard, played for Elko at Duke last season. The word coming out of College Station from the players is that they are enjoying playing in a disciplined system. I am not sold on ND coach Freeman being a top-drawer CFB in-game coach. It's one thing to perhaps, be too aggressive in decision-making, and only 11 players on the field when Ohio State scored a walk-off TD in South Bend in 2023. A+M, like ND, has a Blue Chip Roster. A+M lost some excellent players to the portal but also brought in some very good players. Under Mike Elko and being out of the uber-competitive West Division, I believe the Aggies will be a tough out for any opponent. In 2024, A+M will win its 3 OOC cupcake games. The Arkansas game is in Dallas. Missouri, LSU, and Texas play in College Station. Conference road games are at Mississippi State, South Carolina, Florida, and Auburn. In 2024 and 2025, A+M misses Georgia, Alabama, Ole Miss, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Kentucky, and unfortunately for A+M, Vanderbilt. This is a 'manageable' SEC slate. I think A+M finishes 8-4 at the worst and 10-2 at best.
  23. Charles, I ❤️the optimism. No. 1 recruiting class would require signing studs down south who have in-state choices across fertile recruiting territory in Dixie and also signing close to every stud in California, Composite No. 1? Recruiting and Portaling? I can see this and I do see this happening or darn close very soon. But all of the top recruits from Dixie? That's a Herculean ask and task. Many SEC teams have war chests up there with Division Street and parents who want to watch their son play closer to home. You don't have to get them all. Michigan with a roster not that close to Ohio State's has defeated the Buckeyes 3 seasons in a row, been to the 4-team PO 3 years in a row, and came up with the Roses vs, Bama and made Washington not want to go back to Houston. I see a Ducks coaching staff bringing in their kind of quality recruits with lots of 4* and 5*s in the mix and getting them to play together as a focused, eye on the prize team. How did that 'superstar' team at A+M work out? 😒
  24. Matt Zemek has been covering CFB for decades. Matt for years was Pete Fiutak's No. 2 guy at College Football News. I have always found Matt to be objective regarding his takes. Matt's Dad graduated from SC. Matt was raised in Seattle and graduated from Seattle University.
