  1. The refs did make the right call. They called targeting because McKinley had every chance to not lead with his head but he did. That play is always ruled targeting and there was no hesitation, they threw the flag even Mario pointed Mckinley to the replay screen when he cried that he didnt mean to. The reasons for overturning the call were never explained, which is convenient. Its nice to see at least some duck fans admitting the obvious: it was targetting.
  2. Mr Fischduck, i get it and you don't have to show me where the door is. Not leaving because i can't troll. I am leaving because it's THAT week and i don't want to be around y'all. Cya losers! (That's about as much as i can stir up on you, seriously this is a good site) Laters...
  3. Honestly, Herbert's talents were sadly squandered at Oregon. Not trying to flame or anything like that but what we are seeing now at the big boy level is a budding GOAT and i am not one to easily Hyperbolize (especially about a duck player). Herbert's SNF Steeler performance showed a mastery of accuracy, decision making, improvisational and athletic QB skills. Al Michaels was tripping over his words and that guy has seen them all. His aborted sentence, before Chris Collinsworthless cut him off with another bout of extended mouth farting was "Just look at the way the ball comes out of his hand" and yes just look at that. Herbert's release is so damn efficient, it's almost like he has reinvented how to throw the damn football. He doesn't have to drop the ball and loop it around, he keeps the nose of the ball pointing at his target like Marino did but he doesnt chop off his motion. The result is a spiral so tight his guys have trouble catching it. And that's my next point, Herbert didn't underachieve at Oregon because of his surrounding cast. Even with Charger teammates that drop the ball (3 last night), Herbert is achieving because the Charger coaching staff utilizes his exceptional talents which Cristobal and staff certainly did not do. The guy is really REALLY good.
  4. Maybe im not a good visual learner but i don't understand the pictogram above. Is that supposed to be a vent? That is an HVAC air intake. A vent, at least the vent i think being referenced in "venting" expels air. What are we looking at there actually draws air in... I've never been this helpful before in a duck forum. BMOBY is proud of me wherever he is.
  5. Nolan has played better in Reser and this has been a big part of the home wins. The crowds at Colorado, Wazzu and Cal were not rabidly loud but he was inaccurate, indecisive and the play calling didnt maximize his strengths which are crossing routes, rolling out to buy time and/or getting first downs with his feet. I don't know what to expect from him in Autzen on Saturday. Honestly i wish the beavs were playing the #3 team because the level of inspiration would be sky high. Instead, the ducks got embarrassed by Utah and will have that underdog mentality. I think it's a close one because both teams want to run the ball first and usually that means lots of hairpulling, elbows and passive aggressive pile behavior with numerous small delays from refs trying to calm things down. That leads to a lower score and not a lot of offensive rhythm. Very typical Civil War. Well here we are again. I just hope when Mario tries to tell everyone this is the moment to show everyone who they are they remember they already did. We all know the 'Bamas and the Georgias won't be checking the interwebs to see how the ducks did against the beavs. So what's left is hope for a prime time audience to finally learn what a CW actually is, a very very old rivalry with twisted emotions and incestuous hatreds that only gives temporary and sometimes ugly satisfaction to one side and a year's worth of provincial bitterness to the other side. And just as an aside an actual football games is sometimes played* *Except for the '83 game, i still don't know what that was.
  6. Yessir no matter what there is always the Battle for Monroe. They can't take away over 125 years of uncivilities on the gridiron.
  7. Full disclosure: Beavs fan here, This thread seems surreal if maybe a little "fishy" to be on Fishduck but I will play along... No I think Chance Nolan isn't quite experienced enough to take the beavs to a title. He had a bad game yesterday but more than that he showed other teams how to defend him: drop the linebackers and show him blanket coverage. This is something no other team tried against him yet and the fuskies held him to less than 50 yards passing. He's always had happy feet but now they are worse since he has been told to stay in the pocket and not allowed to run. Sure he will eventually learn to get out and pick up yards in front of the linebackers with his legs but it goes against his training. I love what the beavs are doing but there is too much riding on an inexperienced qb this year to go to the Rosebowl. I also think the ducks will add a couple of losses to their record this year because of an inexperienced qb if they go to TT. There is just so much learning at that position, a kid can get by with athletic ability or instincts some of the time but he is going to make mistakes and when he does those are magnified at the position. And oh yeah if the beavs had the much more experienced Tristan Gebbia not permanently injured they might be a rose bowl team but unfortunately he was injured when someone pulled his leg bone out of his hip after the whistle. Cheers, Jon Blowcheese
