  1. Love Herbert 100%, but he wasn't as productive as he should have been in that game either.   Lawrence looked so much better in the 2nd half than Herbert did all game.   I wish he had been more crutched and really carried the team over the hump.   But alas, we will have to wait another year yet again.

I'm just glad as fans and for the team that we all enter the off season with an Oregon win.

Haven't been able to say that since 2019.

Didn't we win the Pac in 2020 against the spoiled children?

Edit: NVM - we did lose the bowl game that year, badly...

  3. A team can only have one starting QB.   We got ours.   There are always other great players that will be playing for another team.  I say don't be greedy.   I am not impressed by the character of Moore, who seems to have zero loyalty - flipped from ND and now from UO.  Maybe that's how it is in this day an age, but I still don't like it.  So hope he makes it, but won't be surprised if we see him in the portal in anot-so-distant future.

  4. If we can only have one of the two, DL definitely made the wise choice.   Recruiting is no longer the only way to get good players this day and age.  In fact, it is better to transfer a proven QB than recruiting a 5-star.   I know because I happen to be fan of a team that has this experience at QB recently.   Wink Wink...

  5. I got one of your emails about a poor choice of word in my posting.  I think I deserved it and that's the end of that.  We all really appreciate you providing this free forum for OBD fans and trying to keep it civilized.   I can't believe the length some of the folks would go to be nasty.   Ban them!   Good that robots should be used to do the policing instead of you.   Hope you get to bet more on NFL, mostly against the Falcons after they dumped our Mariota...

I wouldn't bet against Dillingham succeeding at ASU. They're roughly twice the size of Oregon and they have a lot of resources to invest in their sports programs. A winning program there and Oregon will find the recruiting more difficult in a state we've done very well in the past few seasons.

Well, but aren't they under a ton of sanctions?   All coaches are on very short leash nowadays.  If he can't deliver in 2-3 yrs, his career will be over.  That's my bet at this point.

I couldn't stand Stanford's slow read-option offensive this year.  It was painful to watch.

The slow mesh, they call it.  LOL.  It was entertaining to watch the QB and RB getting hammer by defenses at the same time while they were saying to each other "no, you have the ball, I insist".

  8. So is Chip the only coach to have left Oregon and be "successful", which comes with a lot of qualifiers of coz...

I wonder if future incoming coaches are going to look at that and think twice before coming here, unless they want to be OBD lifers.   Is this a good thing for us?

  9. I know I know - not very gracious here, but who cares:  The failures of slick and Mario do help to soothe and heal my soul after Saturday.   Thank you, disloyal traitors.

Unfortunately, Dilly didn't learn.   ASU is such a snakepit now, I doubt a young inexperienced guy will make it there.   Not a smart move at all!
