  1. Also from the football team was Moliki Matavao. We had the opportunity to host a BBQ for the group before their trip. All of the student-athletes seemed like very nice young men and women. They represent themselves and the UO very well.
  2. Courts For Kids Reflection - University of Oregon Athletics GODUCKS.COM In June, two dozen UO student-athletes and staff traveled to Guatemala to construct a sports court for a local community. This program, spearheaded by the UO Student Athlete Development Department, has existed for a number of years. For some it has been a life-changing experience. With all the turmoil going on in college athletics today, this is a bright spot at the UO. Other functions of this department that benefit all student-athletes are mentioned on their website. It makes one proud to be a Duck! Welcome to Student-Athlete Development GODUCKS.COM Welcome to Student-Athlete Development
  3. I have to wonder if Mark Campbell leaving hurt the team. My understanding is he was pretty good at game planning, Xs and Os, and was well-liked by the girls. He may also have been the main recruiter of that class.
  4. Interesting idea, Charles. Definitely thinking outside the box. I would be concerned about a couple of potential downsides. First, in addition to losing potential new recruits, I would think transfers out could also increase, especially with the younger players. Not so much that they wouldn't like Bellotti, but because they would be uncertain as to their future coaches. Second, and I think this may be a more significant issue, what about assistant coaches? I think It's a big assumption for Helfrich and Aliotti to give up their current gigs for a one-year stint here. Even if they did, what about the other 7 or so coaches? Would a good coach come here for a one-year contract knowing that a new head-coach would want to bring in his own staff? Now if Bellotti expressed an interest in coaching for 4-5 years, I'm all in!
