Is ‘Flexible Symmetry’ the Answer to Big-10 Scheduling?
If 1 plays 1 than you have a conference champion. If you are more focused on seeding for the CFB playoff, then go with what Duckman60 wrote. I think either way would work, but I think I prefer Duckman20's approach.

Is ‘Flexible Symmetry’ the Answer to Big-10 Scheduling?
I think that makes good sense.

Is ‘Flexible Symmetry’ the Answer to Big-10 Scheduling?
I like Grandpa Duck's idea and have a thought on how to possibly make it work with the current 18 members. As stated in the article - two divisions based on geography but keeping major rivalries. Play all eight other teams in your division. The 9th conference game would be set up as inter-division play based on conference rankings (may be difficult to do). 1 in West Division plays 1 in East Division. 2 in each division play each other and so forth. The higher ranking of the two teams has home field. Maybe some other version of this system would work better. This in lieu of conference championship game. My thought is this would help in final rankings for the CFB playoffs. Anyway, a slightly different version.

Oregon says Significant Increase to Football Season-ticket Prices ‘Critical’ for Ducks to Compete
This is from is from the Oregon newsletter and sheds some light on what is going on. Hope I formatted this correctly. "Is there something you've always wondered about UO athletics? Email rmoseley@uoregon.edu and you could possibly see your question answered in a future edition of the newsletter. We'll also use this space to answer questions we've fielded in person or noticed cropping up among fan discussions online. Sarah, Lake Oswego: It feels like everything costs more these days. With the move to the Big Ten and all the changes, how much more expensive is it really for Oregon now? And big picture, are we in a good financial spot compared to where we were a few years ago and where college sports are headed? Rob Moseley, UO athletics: That's a good read - costs are rising across college athletics, and that's true everywhere, not just at Oregon. And while the move to the Big Ten does add some incremental expense, it's a small piece of the overall picture compared to the overall financial landscape facing college sports. With passionate fans consistently selling out Autzen Stadium, Oregon generates approximately $30 million in football ticket revenue each year. Autzen is one of the great environments in college football - but at 54,000 seats, its capacity is significantly smaller than several Big Ten peers, including Michigan, Ohio State, and Penn State, all of which seat more than 100,000 fans. For comparison, it was reported that Michigan generated $67.6 million in football ticket revenue in the 2024 season, more than double Oregon's total. It's also important to point out that Oregon Athletics is fully self-sustaining. The department receives no financial support from campus or student fees, pays the full cost of scholarships, and covers institutional expenses, including an annual 5 percent overhead campus assessment. In addition, following the House Settlement, Oregon is now sharing $20.5 million directly with student-athletes, a figure that will increase annually. Big picture, Oregon is in a solid and responsible financial position, but the environment is changing rapidly. As costs continue to rise nationally - particularly around student-athlete support and revenue sharing - maximizing revenue across tickets, media rights, sponsorships, licensing and philanthropy is essential to ensure Oregon continues to compete at the highest level of college athletics."

Should Oregon NOT Add-On to Autzen?
The north side of the stadium has poor access to restrooms, concessions, and seats. An expansion could fix that as well as add some seats. Someone smarter than me can figure out the optimal number of additional seats we could add. Kirklandduck has a good point about parking and transportation.

No. 6 Miami Loses to Syracuse 42-38!
Ryan Day and Ohio State's unhealthy Michigan obsession lands them atop Misery Index WWW.USATODAY.COM Ohio State and Ryan Day care way too much about "The Game" 365 days a year, to the point where it strangles them when it... This quote form the article: Make no mistake, Miami has been a high-wire act all season and needed a lot of luck to squeak out games against the likes of Virginia Tech and Cal. If the Hurricanes get left out, the only complaints should be directed toward head coach Mario Cristobal, who manages to do less with more as consistently as any coach in America. Sure am glad Miami "stole" him from us.😀

Not to be argumentative, but I don't think the ball crossed the plane and it was the right call. His second attempt, however, was a TD IMHO

Four Mt. West Teams Set to Join Pac2?

Please Rethink the "Civil War?"
I still have this picture you took of me fifteen years ago, when I was on the Spring Game Chain Crew. Many thanks! Haha. I haven't seen you for a while, but I'll bet you look the same!

Please Rethink the "Civil War?"
I'm going to stick my neck out and respectfully disagree withe opinions stated above. I think continuing the rivalry is not only a good move for the long run, but as soon as 2025 when instead of an away game at Boise, we have a home game with the Beavers. From a fan viewpoint, it is easier to travel to Corvallis than Boise. From a financial standpoint, it is quite probable that the 2025 OSU game will be a sellout whereas I'm not so sure about TT next year. The traveling costs will also be reduced. I don't like the ruling on the lawsuit, but if roles were reversed, Oregon would do the same thing. I suspect if the 10 departing members don't receive their fair share of 2023/24 revenues, there will be another lawsuit. There are still PAC12 liability issues to be resolved, including over-payment of TV revenues. This will eventually be sorted out and win or lose, Oregon will survive and we will all move on. If I'm around 10 years from now, as a Duck I would still enjoy watching the rivalries between the 2 schools, not only in football, but in all sports. I think that will be a good thing for all of Oregon. I do agree, however, that there may have been some political pressure to continue the rivalry. GO DUCKS!

Ducks WBB: ‘Is the System Blinking Red?’
I'm a long-time WBB fan but not a BB expert by any means. When the highly touted class of several years ago began transferring with Tehina being the last one transferring last year, I couldn't help but wonder why. Was it the lack of connection due to Covid? Was it Mark Campbell that recruited them and he left? Was NIL involved? In any event, it appears to me that the transfer players that have come in are not as good as those that left. My theory is that Campbell was the main recruiter and game coach - perhaps also the main practice coach. He had good success at Sacramento State and is now turning around the program at TCU. I think he was a key cog on the staff and is missed. Whatever the reason, I hope Graves gets it figured out and gets the program back on track before the fans lose interest. Perhaps we fans are just spoiled.

Oregon’s Strange Red Zone Problem
There hasn't been much need for Nix to run up to this point. Keeping him healthy was important. With a lot of chips on the table, I suspect that Friday night we may see him run more by design. If he does get dinged up a little, he will have a month to recover before the next game.

Coaching Leads Ducks to a Loss
HappyToBeADuck, great post! Although I question DL's decision to forego the field goals, I think the OC's play calling was equally, if not more, instrumental in the outcome of the game. Their DC out-coached our OC most of the game. Stein is young and inexperienced at this level. Hopefully he will learn from this and DL will learn that there's a time to be aggressive, and a time to be conservative. And even if Cam would have made the field goal, that would only have gotten us to OT. No guarantees we would have won. I'm glad DL is our coach and I'll stick with him. I think the verdict is still out on Stein.

Whoa! Phillipina Kyei: 15 Points and 15 REBOUNDS?
I like all three of the freshmen that have been playing. My humble opinions: Chance Gray is very athletic and quick, but sometimes plays a little out of control. She will get better at that and be a floor leader in the future. Good defensive player. Grace VanSlooten is the real deal. Very talented, aggressive, has a high BB IQ, and plays hard all the time. I think she will be a star. I like Jennah Isai a lot. Also very aggressive and high BB IQ. Looks to score and plays hard. Provides great energy off the bench. I think the verdict is still out on Kennedy Basham. She didn't play her senior year in high school because of an injury. In the brief time I saw her on the floor, she looked a little tentative (understandable) and got pushed around somewhat. At this point, I think she is a work in progress who I think will develop into a solid player under Graves tutelage. Hopefully it will be sooner rather than later because we could use another big. Overall, I think they will be a very good team in another month or two as the freshmen continue to develop. They are fun to watch.

After Some Time to Cool Down…
When TT was in, I watched his eyes to see if he surveyed the defense. He didn't. Even if everyone thinks its going to be a run, at least look at the defenders to make them think a pass was at least remotely possible. That being said, this loss was not on TT.

Kelly Graves Teases "Huge News"
I'm hopeful that picking up this player is the surprise. We need depth at post and she may be able to join the team after the fall trimester is over. https://www.nola.com/sports/lsu/article_6463252a-45dc-11ed-b7ae-c768dae5ea2a.html
