  1. Can't stay healthy anyway. Not really a loss in my mind as he has played what.......maybe 40 snaps in two seasons???
  2. Well, I was on the other side of the ball then when you guys were playing against Glide. For some reason I don't remember Justin as a QB, but I definitely remember him as a linebacker. I got to feel that first hand as I was the QB for Glide......but this was high school I am talking about, in junior high we played more local teams in Roseburg. Small world........which is why I like Oregon/Eugene so much.
  3. Well.........what exactly did our incredible recruiting do against Utah here recently? There is way more to college football then recruiting and believe me when I say Wilcox and Musgrave will recruit way better to Oregon than they did to Cal.
  4. Yes........because Phil Knight and Nike are the real recruiters. I mean come on. Obviously Cristobal is not someone that kids parents should of been trusting it seems at this point. Trust in Phil Knight and trust in Nike......trust in Oregon as a program not in a specific coach. But with Wilcox at least parents and kids know he won't bail like our good buddy Cristo-bail.
  5. This is why I think Mullens needs to make a quick decision. He should of known this was coming for a lot longer then a couple weeks and he should be prepared. Bring in Wilcox and Musgrave and settle the ship. They likely have some decent recruits they could bring along too.
  6. Why not bring in some folks who's dream job IS Oregon? Imagine the joy of winning it all with home state guys at the helm. Think about the pride and joy you have when thinking about Herbert killing it for the Ducks and then taking it to another level in the NFL. Wilcox is hands down a better coach than Mario will ever be. Perhaps (with Phil at his side) he will become just as good a recruiter as well. Let's face it, Nike is the best recruiter the UofO has. Without it Mario would not have had near the success he did on the recruiting trail. We also need to recognize that recruiting does not equate to scores in games. If we haven't learned that from the past two games against Utah then I don't know what else to say.
  7. It's the intangible things that matter most in life. Not splashy, not fancy not gaudy. Especially in the greater state of Oregon (i.e. not just Eugene and campus). Kindness, loyalty, can do attitudes, will and heart define our great state. Those are characteristics that I would like to see prioritized. I wonder how much of the divergence in who people want here on FishDuck is correlated with where people are from. Is it just the Oregonians who are in favor of bringing it all back home? Probably not all, but my guess is there may be a fairly strong correlation with this desire.
  8. We don't know unless we let them try. What is it that makes someone a good recruiter?
  9. Me neither. Talk about out of the frying pan and into the fire. Doesn't matter though, he won't accept the offer. He doesn't want to coach at Oregon or in the Pac 12.
  10. Well, except for one player.......was he the canary in the coal mine?
  11. Geez.......that should be an interesting dynamic with the fired head coach now working for the new head coach.
  12. Yes, that last sentence kind of sums up this situation. Oregon has always been one to buck the system. So at this point I say we thumb our nose at the big ugly monster that college football has become (and that slick and Cristobal have so clearly articulated through their actions) and now we shift to a more loyalty based culture. Bringing it All Back Home
  13. Why? Any specific reasons for this? Has he not made lemonade at Cal? He has never had a QB who could win a lot of games. Dave Aranda is not going to be leaving Baylor. He has already made that perfectly clear. Why not bring someone in who wants to live in Oregon, who knows Oregon, who enjoys the weather and doesn't mind the fickle fans.
  14. Right, not many, but we have the opportunity right now to make a decision that addresses this issue. Let's take advantage of it and get off of the carousel. It's making me dizzy and I feel like I might puke.
  15. Loyalty and trust are the foundation of any good relationship. I believe these could be the foundation of the Ducks winning a championship as well. Keep up with what we have seen for the past 5 or so years and we will not only lose the team......but we will lose the fans as well (including myself). I have no idea why folks are so down on Wilcox and Musgraves but they have been making lemonade for many years now. What about all these other new names people are throwing around makes them better?
  16. Yes, there is no way that a deal like this gets done without conversations going on for quite a while. Cristobal taking a big risk on this move. Once he falters at Miami (and I do believe he will) he will end up in a spot like slick within about 5 years.
  17. Personally I don't think any of the names in the article are viable. Mostly because I don't think any of them will want the job, but also because none of those coaches have a personal connection to UofO. It's time to make a move similar to what Miami is making. Pay a local guy to get the job done and get it done right. I know Charles wrote a tough article on Wilcox nine years ago showing some suspect things his players were doing. The question I have about that is whether or not there is proof that Wilcox was coaching his players to play dirty or not? Sounded like the article doesn't clarify that but does clarify that he didn't clearly chastise those players for that type of play though and that is concerning. I personally have never seen Wilcox play dirty. As I have stated many times on FishDuck I played high school sports against Wilcox for three years in the early 90's and he never played dirty, but he was really tough to guard on the basketball court and he smashed us pretty hard on the football field. So to answer Fentress' tweet questions I suppose there is only one overarching priority for me and that is loyalty at this point. We have to stop the coaching carousel as there is nothing more destructive to a program than what we have seen for the past several years now.
  18. Yep, this is exactly why we hire Wilcox and Musgraves. They are returning to their homes and their alma mater. It has worked well for the Beavers and they don't have nearly the talent level we have.
  19. We already have the jimmy's and the joe's. So now we need the x's and the o's. Wilcox + Musgraves the great Duck players should return to the helm.
  20. Nah.......I don't feel this way about it or him. He is doing us a favor. Do you really think he was going to change our offensive dysfunction anytime soon? Best of luck to Mario Cristobal. He was a great coach (or maybe recruiter) for us and he is a good man. I don't blame him for wanting to be near his mom and make a lot of cash in his home town. More power to him. I do however think he won't be nearly as successful in Miami.
  21. Cal is a train wreck for other reasons. There is absolutely no support in Berkley for football.
  22. Yep, we could have Wilcox and Musgrave ready to roll for the Alamo Bowl. Imagine what a boost of confidence and stability hiring both of these guys right away would infuse into this situation.
  23. Yes, thank you ahead of time for not kicking your dogs. We will be alright. In fact, we will be better off.
  24. Nice work KingT. You have been right on top of this stuff and great about sharing. Really appreciate it!! It's what we all expected. I assume we will see a press conference here by the end of the day. Time for Bringing it All Back Home
