  1. My eyes and heart tell me that they will win out and become the pac12 Champs. But my heart has dropped many times proving my thoughts inaccurate. However, I'm reminded of two seasons, not to long ago, that everything came together and they made it to the championship game.

So I will remain thankful for the privilege of watching this team, this year. Also for being a part of this great group of Duck fans!

  2. I really enjoy reading everyone's thoughts. I too believe that our favorite team will emerge victorious on Saturday. However I have a different feeling about the score.

I have the sense that making a statement win slipped through their fingers with the puppies and the kitties didn't offer the level of redemption they desire.

I also believe this will be a fist fight for much of the first half. But the ducks will flex their muscles and will win in a dominant fashion. 42-14

I think the key difference between Lanning and Cristobal in terms of recruitment is that Lanning is recruiting players who have the correct traits to fit his scheme.

Cristobal recruited physical athletes and tried to ram them into whatever scheme (or lack thereof) that he had at Oregon.

A big example is the recruitment of Noah Sewell and Justin Flowe as linebackers. Sewell didn't fit as a linebacker and probably should have been developed as an edge rusher. He is built like an old school linebacker but his coverage skills were always dubious.

And Flowe... well he's got incredible physical traits but lacks the mental ability for the game. He was basically pushed out by Lanning and he probably cost Zona the game against USC this last weekend.

Lanning isn't chasing stars that's for sure.

I agree with everything you stated. The previous leadership really seemed to chase after the stars where this leadership team doesn't.

He has 16 of the 4/5-Star players on Rivals, of which equals his class last year that was the second best ever at Oregon.  Can he match the best of Cristobal's 19 in 2021?

The definitive source for all Oregon news.

Or should he NOT go for record and save scholarships for the portal?

IMHO I don't think the record is something to strive for.  Mario seemed to reach for that mark and many of those young men have left the program.

The young men that Dan brings in seem to be making a solid impact right away. While those that don't, are willing to sit behind a older transfer and learn.

I say leave a few for key transfers.

So we have EIGHT Pac-12 teams in the top 25?  The pinnacle of the conference....just in time to end it!

Could the number of ranked teams be due to the new conferences wanting to show greater added value?

Just a thought, but the pac whatever has never been given any respect. Meaning that teams that have deserved ranking didn't get it and now there are so many teams ranked?

I do agree that the pac has several good teams this year but really, we have had for many years. This has lead to cutting each other's throats.

  6. Thank you for your honesty and humility. A wise Leader once said "those without sin cast the first stone". I try to apply this great wisdom before I react to something. I'm not saying I've obtained that level of control but I'm better than I was yesterday.

So keep up the good work, keep running the race to win. You are making a difference in society, through this "fishduck" experience, that I don't think you fully realize... yet.

I do not believe anyone said it would be the reason for victory.

I am grateful for that crowd noise and for being here and not at UCLA.  If we win that WiLL be the reason.  IMO

Again, I'm not saying it isn't a factor because it is. However the crowd will not be the only reason for the victory but a positive contribution to the teams performance.

  8. The crowd noise will be the reason for a victory? Surely you jest! While,  it is true that the crowd does play a factor and does in fact cause the offince into mistakes at times, but it is in NO WAY soly responsible for a team's victory.

Let's keep this in it's proper context folks. Let's be glad to be a part of a victory when it happens and enjoy this wonderful time of year.

  9. For me it is pretty simple. Some people don't have a filter and don't see why others have an issue with that.

The rules are the rules and they need to be followed by us all. To that I believe if a rule has been violated even if it's on the line, it needs to be removed and an email sent to the author explaining the violation.

The whole doesn't conform to the one. If a person can't speak to an issue without being derogatory towards another then they should keep it to themselves. None of us need to be subjected to their ignorance.

There is enough hate and blustering around us all. This needs to remain a sanctuary of peace away from the nonsense we are immersed in daily.

Good or bad lets enjoy our ducks. Let's talk sports, be respectful, keep it clean and real.

Thank you Charles and everyone who spends so much time and resources to keep this sanctuary open to us all.
