  1. I'm in at 14 wins. My reasoning is simple. it goes beyond talent and experience, which this team is full of, it's a matter of heart. I do believe that our Ducks were unraveling because of the poor game planning and management of the previous leadership, the rot was evident like termite damage left unchecked.

The young men want to win and seem to believe they can now. They want to win for because of pride, their future possibilities and now have a greater battle cry in the passing of a fallen brother. Coach has proven that he knows how to adjust and learn when things are going wonky,  that in itself would have won the conference last year even with the poor game management.

I guess my point is that where there is breath there's hope and where there is hope the heart drives a person to overcome and win against life's challenges.

    Go Ducks

  2. While the "portal" is in our face every day, it seems that we forget, or at least I do, an important point. Even if the athletes that this young man is talking to doesn't sign here, they will remember the love if/when they hit the portal in the future. So, it's not "no", it's just "not yet".

  3. In my humble opinion Charles you are simply asking people to treat others as they want to be treated. Most people can accomplish this through self control. However self control is quickly eroded by entitlement. Once entitlement takes root all bets are off. Everyone is susceptible to this, it's human nature.

You can't change their mind, you can only stand for what is right and not conform under the pressure of their loss or anyone else's. I think it's safe to say that 99% of us are thankful for your efforts to provide a safe and enjoyable forum. It is here that we can focus on something positive instead of the nonsense around us. Thank you, be strong and courageous!

  4. 38-28 Ducks 1, 2, 263 yards one of the freshman qbs come in partway into the 3rd and light it up while the sooners keep stacking the box to stop the run. Moorehead goes out feeling vindicated and Cristobal looks less like the coach Miami thought they bought. We have a real qb competition going into spring.

  5. I love the way you shared this. I would hope that we can set aside our emotions when they begin to our behavior in a negative manner. Sadly collage football has become consumed with the almighty dollar and all that goes with it (example 2). While expecting the fans to  maintain its passion and support with patients and compassion. (example 1). I guess you could say it's like having your pie and eating it to.

With things around us as crazy as they are it is easy to view life, including OBD, through the lens of frustration, resentment hopelessness. However, choosing to follow OBD for the love of the game, special memories and the hope to for a special moment or season, will lead to a more fulfilling experience and lower blood pressure.

I haven't done a good job at this but I'm trying maintain the correct focus and attitude because if I don't I would quit watching or caring about OBD... I don't want to throw that away.

One of the best compliments ever, and I thank you.  This moderating is really hard...

Charles you do a great job! Seriously you have been a great blessing to so many duck fans over the years. Thank you for all that you do!

In order to win the Oregon Program was building the wrong vehicle, but going the right way.

We didn't put the right engine on the field. The qb is the one player who can make or break a program. We chose neither of those two options. We chose the straight six engine, reliable, but never going to win much.

If we are going to win going forward we have to pick a qb who can do it all and develop him. Programs don't win with a guy who isn't at least in the running for the Heisman. In the future I trust we will have the engine on the field to make it all work.

The other item is we need the right transmission. The three speed transmission, even 4 speed transmission just doesn't do it anymore. Boy did I love my old '76 BMW 2002, but the transmission held it back.

Same thing with our offense which never extended the opposing defense beyond 5 yds from the line of scrimmage. We need an offense which is a threat to go deep, break it open at anytime.

The good news is switching out the engine and transmission will be easy. We hire the coach who can see beyond the line of scrimmage, and we have 40+ points easy. The engines were on the bench the whole season. We just need to get a coach who isn't afraid to put it in, and shift out of first gear.

It is great news Cristobal had us going the right way, the parts are there! We just need administration to put someone in charge who knows how to use the parts, and can get onboard before the vehicle gets picked apart and we are left with a shell again. Fortunately it is a beautiful shell and should stay together, Go Ducks!

What a great way to describe what we have been witnessing the last few years. Thank you for putting this into words that anyone can understand!

  8. I dont know that we are unhappy that he left but it was the way he left is the big problem... at least for me it is. If you are a person of integrity than say what you mean, mean what you say.  Remember, truth may hurt at the moment but it will set you free.
