  5. Thanks Mr. FishDuck! I simply love all the video analysis you provide. This is a great series. You are correct that Coach Stein will have constraint plays off of this. Just think of a running QB on a keeper to the backside of this play. In my old Wing T days we would call a Waggle (pass play off a power run) and our QB would run for long yards. I am loving this Will Stein offense!
  6. Just a reminder of how the Ducks are reloading!
  7. In addition to recognizing a wonderful Duck, the video highlights the awesome world class facility Hayward Field. I love the interaction between coach and athlete. The Respect for each other.
  8. Let's all celebrate Oregon's newest National Champion! Jaida Ross shines at NCAA Championship Track and Field meet. Awesome achievement Jaida. Go Ducks!
  9. Thanks Charles for a great analysis article today! Coach Stein is an outstanding offensive coordinator. The Counter is itself a constraint play taking advantage of power running to a tight end side. Coach Stein has multiple ways of doing that. Motioning a player into or away from a formation causes defenders to change their keys and communicate to each other. The Offense always has the advantage of knowing the play. Defense has to react and be correct in their keys. Causing the defense to think can give an offensive player an extra step or angle to make a great play.
  10. Thanks Charles, I love these types of plays! Taking advantage of the defensive players and what they are taught to "read" and "key" on. I agree Will Stein's offense is brilliant. I like your reference to the Mari no O, "This is not a “pounding the A-Gap strategy,” as instead we saw three components are weaved into one play".
  11. Thanks David for today's article. Communication is so important, and I agree this will help all. An additional benefit will be to make it harder for opponents to steal signals. Hopefully there won't be the use of all those screens trying to prevent stealing signals held on the sideline next to the coaches.
  12. Thanks Ryan! Excellent article for discussion. You make a good point that all were important to move the goalposts. I don't think we could be where we are without each one of them. I love your summary, "Dan Lanning has returned the hope that was always so prevalent during the Kelly era, but with the recruiting of the Cristobal era, and the likeability of the Bellotti era." Hope, belief in the program, and confidence exudes from every member of the football team. The coaches and players make me proud to be a Duck!
  13. Thanks Alex for the FishDuck article today! Good summary of this off-season. There's so much to review and like. I agree with all the things you discussed. I'm blown away at the improvements in the trenches. Now that's BIG news. Harmon and Caldwell on the D line and "Shaq" McCoy on the O line bring the size and power the Ducks need. And all the credit goes to Coach Lanning and his awesome staff!
  14. Thanks for the article Alex. I think it will stimulate a good discussion. We can agree the offense will continue to put up points like it did last year. Lots of depth and weapons galore. However, in my opinion, I think the defensive line is better. Any Offensive problems in the spring game came about because of pressure from the defensive line. The depth and growth of the young studs on that line were more than an evenly split offensive line could handle. Then when you consider the commitment of Harmon, the defensive line will be a strength for the Ducks. Take away an opponent's ability to run and we'll see sacks and interceptions galore. Coach Lanning and staff continues to improve every position with competition. The defense will be making a statement this year!
  15. Yes, David, I agree with you. The Oregon quarterback room is deep and talented. Thanks for your well written article. No longer will I be devastated if our QB is taken out by a cheap shot or unfortunate injury. We will have several replacements capable to run the offense! "In the end, the most important takeaway from this spring game is that all the quarterbacks played with confidence." Thank you Will Stein and Dan Lanning!

  17. Excellent research to back up the Blue Chip Roster criteria for winning the national title. Thank you Jon for writing today's article. I enjoy your tidbits of humor interspersed throughout the writing, i.e. "...Texas A+M, (76 million reasons to LOL)..." I look forward to reading your posts and articles. Thank you!
  18. Thanks for today's article Alex! I agree that our offense will flash - with lightening strikes. We do have a loaded WR room. Evan Stewart (thank you Chuc007) will contribute more as the season progresses when he learns more of the offense. Along with TE Ferguson, I think Kenyon Sandiq will be a major contributor. His speed at TE is awesome. And don't forget TE Patrick Herbert. He's a very good athlete who can move well and has good hands.
  19. Thanks Mike for your entertaining summary of the state of affairs in Corvallis. It does not seem as though there's a plan. When Commissioner Living Large Larry was beginning the downward spiral of the Pac, I was under the impression that OSU President Ray was Larry's biggest supporter (protector). If true, then this mess at OSU seems to be a large dose of Karma.
  20. Darren, you had me going! I was not too sure about the court. I can take it or leave it. But the "Visually Induced Dizziness" and the "vomit violently" got me believing you. Then the RoboDuck sold me. What a disaster that was. Ugly! Congratulations on a perfect April Fool's Day joke! Have a great day!
  21. Everything you wrote today Jon, is excellent! I couldn't have expressed myself better. I still haven't heard a legitimate reason from the AD for his decisions. The best line in your article, "Rob, you and your friends did not seek a path toward a settlement, you folded like a cheap suit." I wish Rob was more like Winston Churchill, "Never give in, never give in, never, never, never, never—in nothing, great or small, large or petty—never give in except to convictions of honor and good sense." Keep the articles coming Jon. I appreciate your point of view!
  22. Excellent article Jon! Thanks. I agree with your opening point, "...it will hopefully be the latter if the Committee wants its selections to be respected by coaches, players, and fans of CFB." Let's hope for the NET instead of ESecPN bias.
  23. USC - say it ain't so Joe! (I mean Jon) Very good analysis Jon. Thanks for the article today. I always enjoy reading your posts and articles. Go Ducks! Spring football is here - finally!
  24. Thanks for the article today Don! You make good points. I agree the wave is a distraction, especially when it continues during game action. Oregon does have a unique creative action that occurs before the start of the 4th quarter. The whole Autzen stadium singing and dancing to "Shout"! I'm not aware of any other college with such a classic movie filmed on their campus. The tradition of " Shout" at Autzen is the best!
  25. Change is coming for the Chargers. I hope this helps Justin. He deserves the best!
