2nd inning; Ayon gets out number one on a full count swinging strike out. The second out comes on an unassisted out ground ball at first base. A hard shot to third base goes off Drew Cowley's glove into left field and places the batter at second base. It was scored as a single and the error allowing the runner to advance. A single to right field scores the runner. The third out is recorded by the runner trying to take second on the throw home which was cut off by Jacob Walsh and his throw to second is right on target. 1 Run, 1 Hit, 1 Error, 0 LOB -

Bottom of the 1st inning; Tanner Smith hit a slow roller to third base that puts him on first base with an infield single. Drew Cowley hit a line drive into the right field corner for a double with Smith holding at third base. Brennan Milone scores Tanner with a ground ball out to second base. Jacob Walsh hit another liner into right field that plates Cowley. Anthony Hall doubles down the line to left field that brings Walsh "bumbling, rumbling, and stumbling" to home, where the throw home is scored as an error as it gets by the catcher, and allowing Hall to take third base. Colby Shade hit another double down the left field line scoring Anthony Hall. Josiah Cromwick lined a single into right field that brings Shade home. Cromwick is caught trying to steal second base. It appeared that Josiah was initially safe, but his head first slide carried him beyond the base and was tagged out. 5 Runs, 6 Hits, 1 Error, 0 LOB California 1 - Oregon 5 -

The umpires and coaches have congregated at home plate, the tarp is being removed from the pitchers mound, and it is still putting down that liquid sunshine. It never rains next door at Autzen Stadium, so it stands to reason that it never rains at PK Park? -

Isaac Ayon pitching for our Ducks this afternoon. Appears the game is in a "rain delay" which is somewhat surprising given the rain in last night's game. Estimated to be a 15 minute delay, with first pitch at 2:20PM. -
9th inning; Leadoff hitter for Cal is at first base on a throwing error by Kasevich that is wide of first. Somers got ahead of the count 0-2 but four straight balls walks the second batter to put runners at second and first with no outs. A fly out to right field allows the runner at second to advance to third. Runners at the corners with one out. Somers retires the second out on a swinging strike. And Kolby bears down to strike out the hard hitting top of the order for California. 0 Runs, 0 Hits, 1 Error, 2 LOB Oregon wins 7-2

Bottom of the 8th with Oregon batting; Drew Cowley leading off for the Ducks. Drew strikes out swinging. Next up is Brennan Milone, and he works a walk off a full count. Jacob Walsh at bat with one on and one out. The second straight free pass puts Duck runners on second and first with only one out. Josh Kasevich will attempt to bring in an insurance run (or two). The third walk in a row loads the bases for Oregon with only one out. Anthony Hall batting and he hits a ball to deep center field for a three run triple. Those three walks have come back to haunt the Bears. California with a pitching change. Colby Shade will face the new Cal pitcher with Hall perched at third base and still only one out. Shade hit a ground ball out to shortstop but Anthony Hall scampers home with Oregon's fourth run of the inning. Jack Scanlon strikes out swinging, but Oregon has extended the lead heading to the 9th inning. 4 Runs, 1 Hits, 0 Errors, 0 LOB California 2 - Oregon 7

In the top of the 8th inning; It has been raining for several innings, but Christian Ciuffetelli continues pitching for Oregon. The first batter for Cal swings and misses on a 3-2 pitch. New pitcher Matt Dallas is called out of the bullpen with one out and no base runners. Dallas gets the batter to ground out to third base for the second out. A single to centerfield puts a runner at first base. A second single into centerfield has two runners on base. Dallas comes out and Kolby Somers will try to get out Oregon out of the 8th inning. Kolby is leading the Pac12 with seven saves. And Somers gets Oregon out of the jamb on a swinging strikeout. 0 Runs, 2 Hits, 0 Errors, 2 LOB

-
Top of the 7th; Rio Britton gets the first out on a ground ball to third base. Rio walks the next batter on a full count. And Oregon will bring on Christian Ciuffetelli in relief of Britton. I get the impression that Coach Wasikowski now has a short leash on walks. Ciuffetelli gets behind in the count 3-0 but after two strikes gets a fly ball out to center field and a fly ball out to left field to end the Cal portion of the 7th inning. 0 Runs, 0 Hits, 0 Errors, 1 LOB

Cal's coach with a quick hook on his starting pitcher. Oregon has four hits in the game to only two hits for California, but the Ducks trail by two runs. Brennan Milone draws a walk on four straight pitches. Jacob Walsh hitting with two on base and one out. Jacob falls behind in the count 0-2 and strikes out swinging. Josh Kasevich needs to do something with runners at second and first. And he comes through with a double into center left scoring Cowley. Anthony Hall at bat with runners at third and second. The third double of the inning by Hall plates Milone and Kasevich. That hit by Hall hit the base of the outfield wall in left/center. Connor Shade ends the inning with a ground ball out to second base, but Oregon has scored three runs to take the lead after six innings. 3 Runs, 3 Hits, 0 Errors, 1 LOB Cal 2 - Oregon 3

Gordon strikes out the batter for out number two. Another wild pitch scores a second Cal run with the runner at second moving to third. Gordon walks the next batter for Cal. A pop up to shortstop ends the top of the fourth, but California has struck first in the scoring column. 2 Runs, 2 Hits, 1 Errors, 2 LOB

Gavin Grant leading off for Oregon in the third inning and he gets punched out looking at a 2-2 pitch. Tanner Smith doubles into the right field corner. Drew Cowley can drive in a run here, but he can't capitalize as he pops out to third base. Another runner stranded as Brennan Milone hit a ground ball out to the third baseman. 0 Runs, 1 Hit, 0 Errors, 1 LOB California 0 - Oregon 0 at the end of three innings.

Jacob Walsh hit a long fly ball that is caught at the warning track in right/center for out number three. Ducks are hitting the pitches tonight, which is a good sign. 0 Runs, 2 Hits, 0 Errors, 1 LOB Cal 0 - Oregon 0 after one inning
