One thing Oregon’s defense was lacking in 2022 was a disruptive pass-rush, but a couple big time recruits and a massive transfer portal grab could give Oregon the tools to put some big name QBs under some serious duress. With new recruits Matayo Uiagalelei and Blake Purchase, Jordan Burch from the transfer portal, and Mase Funa returning, this edge group could be dominating for the Ducks. The Ducks have done really well to bolster the WR position in the past couple of years through the recruiting cycle and transfer portal, but they might be able to land another big-bodied (6'5", 205) pass catcher if Montgomery chooses to pack his bags for Eugene. Oregon Recruiting: Elite JUCO WR places Ducks among final schools DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM Marquis Montgomery, the No. 3 JUCO WR in the 2023 class, has Oregon among his top schools.

Eugene is not a large market, and while Oregon may not offer the same glamour that Los Angeles brings with the Trojans and Bruins, it’s become clear that when the Ducks are on, people tune in. We saw that earlier this week when going over the ratings in the Pac-12, taking a look at which school led the way. Spoiler alert, it was Oregon over both USC and UCLA. You can view that OBDF posting here. So where do the Ducks stand when it comes to a national playing field? Let’s take a look: Oregon Football: Where Ducks rank among most-watched teams in 2022 DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM We know the Ducks were the most-watched team in the Pac-12 last season. Where did they rank in the nation, though?

Cold Shooting Night Dooms Ducks Stanford was blistering hot in the first half and the Ducks never really got going in a loss Saturday to the Cardinal. The Ducks shot 37.9 percent Saturday as the Cardinal earned just its second win in Pac-12 play this season. Oregon led for less than a minute of action and trailed by as much as 17 in the second half before a late surge. Oregon lays a dud in a near must-win game at Stanford The Ducks failed to get the elusive second win of this road swing. Now Oregon's NCAA Tournament at-large chances are on thin ice. Stanford shot above 50 percent from the field for just the fifth time this season, and the Cardinal shot the second-best shooting percentage of the year on 3-pointers. As Oregon's defense allowed a poor shooting Stanford team to get hot, the Ducks fell 71-64. As poor as Oregon's defense was in the game, their offense was equally as bad. The Ducks shot below 40 percent from the field, failed to draw fouls for free throw attempts, and finished the game shooting just 14 shots from the line. The loss to a Stanford team with now just seven wins on the year, Oregon will see its gains in the NET rankings drop hard. It's so frustrating. Seems this team continually falls behind early in games and waits until the end to try to get it going. You're right, we have no alpha dog, like a Payton Pritchard, to motivate/energize this team when it's needed. Also, I don't remember a Duck team so bad with shooting slumps, bad defense and missing free throws. We had so many chances to win this game, but it just wasn't to be.

Oregon men’s basketball fall to last place Stanford Oregon had the dud it couldn’t afford and its already remote chances of attaining an at-large berth to the NCAA Tournament are likely over.
