Dan Lanning playing into the Oregon-Washington rivalry during game preparation With two of the team leaders carrying such vitriol for this contest, it's easy to see how Lanning's seamless immersion into it took place and how quarterback Bo Nix has no illusions that this is just another game. "There's a lot of guys who were born and raised here in Eugene or in Oregon that have told me a lot about it," Nix said. "So I enjoy hearing those kinds of stories rather than looking it up and getting the internet stories. I like getting the personal stories and the Oregon player stories." I have been looking but haven't seen anything firm yet from men's basketball. They have 3 big commits that I thought were signing today, Mookie Cook, Kwame Evans and Jackson Shelstad. When something firm comes out, we will put it in the following thread: Pac-12 Oregon's Coverage of Men's Basketball. -

Bo Nix on fresh start at Oregon, shedding Auburn expectations: ‘I can just go out there and play’ “I’ve never really felt anything like it. It’s just very supportive, and nothing but love from everybody. I just enjoy getting to learn a new atmosphere, getting to learn new things. That was my first basketball game, so I enjoyed that, seeing the arena for the first time and all that kind of stuff. “Just to see that they’re over there cheering just as loud for basketball games as they do for football games, it’s just a great place.” Bo Nix on fresh start at Oregon, shedding Auburn expectations: ‘I can just go out there and play’ - On3 WWW.ON3.COM Bo Nix isn't being shy about the different a fresh start has made for him at Oregon, as perhaps the expectations at Auburn weighed...

Michael Penix Jr. Has Learned That Oregon Is A Team 'That We Don't Like' "We just want to win. That's the main thing for us. For us, we don't have any pressure. I feel like going into the game, we know it's a big game, we know they're a really good team, but at the same time it's the game of football. It's a rivalry game, it's a big game, we're definitely going to take that into account, but at the same time we just have to go out there and play our game and things will fall into place." Michael Penix Jr. Has Learned That Oregon Is A Team 'That We Don't Like' 247SPORTS.COM Michael Penix Jr. knows rivalry games are big, but he also feels like Washington just needs to play their game and they will be fine... -

SOURCES: Oregon Ducks expecting visit from 5-star DL ranked No. 1 in the 2023 class Sources have confirmed to me that 5-star defensive lineman David Hicks, the No. 1 ranked DL in the 2023 class and No. 9 overall player in the nation, is taking an unofficial visit to Eugene. Hicks is officially committed to Texas A&M, but my source tells me that the Ducks have still been aggressive in his recruitment and are not out of the running, by any means. Garbage Time Reps for Back-Ups Don’t Matter
Pennsylvania Duck replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Good article, David. I think Jahlil Florence is another Freshman who has done well when in games. He has made some mistakes but appears to learn from them and did very well in many situations. I think the future is good for him with the team. Whenever a back-up gets into a game, they need to show their best and leave an impression on the coaches. Opportunities are not always around the corner. If you don't show up, even in garbage time, the impression is that player will not do well in a real game situation. I see TT in that situation. -

I am presuming you are referring to the first point covered in the Ducks Confidential Podcast posted above. If you listened to the podcast, 'Oregon handles its business against another bad opponent', actually refers to the Colorado game. They recapped the Colorado game first, then went on to talk about the next two points which involved the Washington game. No one referred to Washington being a bad team in the podcast.
