5-star QB Bryce Underwood lists Oregon Ducks among top schools The Oregon Ducks have done a great job of recruiting the quarterback position over the past couple of years, landing 4-star Austin Novosad in 2023, and picking up commitments from both 4-star Michael Van Buren and 3-star Luke Moga in the class of 2024. On top of that, Oregon already has a commitment from 4-star Akili Smith Jr. in the class of 2025, as well. Might there be another QB commitment in 2025, though? That’s still yet to be seen. On Monday afternoon, 5-star QB Bryce Underwood, the No. 1 ranked QB in the 2025 class, announced that he had the Ducks among his top schools. Underwood also listed Alabama, Colorado, Michigan, LSU, Penn State, and Florida State in his top 7. According to the 247Sports Composite, Underwood stands as the No. 2 overall player in the class of 2025, standing at 6-foot-4, 205 pounds. We will have to see how the Ducks continue to pursue him over the coming months, but for now they seem to be in a great spot in his recruitment... I hate these late night games. On the East Coast, it starts at 10:30PM and doesn't end til after 1:30AM! It is a shame that the East Coast viewership can't participate. I was just thinking how I was going to do the Postgame thread. Just might have to wait until I wake up in the the morning!

Stock Report: Casey Rogers, Tez Johnson have monster days in blowout win You would think that in a 44-point blowout victory at home, there wouldn’t be many things to nitpick, and very few “stock down” performances throughout the day. That’s not quite how Oregon Ducks head coach Dan Lanning felt after the game, though. Rather, Lanning noted that there were several things that the team needed to improve on going forward, and he was not satisfied with the performance in the slightest. While it’s easy to see what he’s talking about, Oregon fans can also feel good about the way their team played, especially when it comes to performances by Bo Nix, Tez Johnson, Casey Rogers, Taki Taimani, and many others. So in our weekly stock report, let’s take a look at the guys who saw their stock rise the most, and a couple who have stuff to improve upon going forward... Report Card: A rough start turns into a gem of a win against Cal Oregon didn’t draw up the beginning of the game on a chalkboard with the first play being an interception. Fortunately, it turned out okay as the Duck’s defense came to play and the offense got things together in the 63-19 win over California. But the wet conditions did create some plays you normally wouldn’t see such as a blocked field goal returned to for a touchdown only to be called back because the defense was offsides. Both teams were flagged for sideline interference and a 52-yard field goal was missed. The Ducks got their biggest punt return of the season and scored three touchdowns in the last five minutes of the first half. Other than that, it was a normal football game. Bo Nix was outstanding, Tez Johnson had a career game and the defense allowed just one touchdown, their first in two games. Coach Dan Lanning wasn’t particularly happy with the overall performance, but that just shows how high the standard has become in Eugene. Here’s another very good report card after the big win over California... Report Card: A rough start turns into a gem of a win against Cal DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM Report Card: It wasn’t the start they drew up, but after a couple of early miscues, Oregon turns in a good, solid performance.

No. 6 Oregon vs. USC: Ducks open as 2 TD favorites over visiting Trojans There will be a lot of hype surrounding this game, despite the fact that it is being played between one team that is playing as well as it has all season, squarely in the College Football Playoff race, and another team that has lost three of their last four games and is no longer ranked. When the Oregon Ducks and USC Trojans get together, though, it’s often an entertaining time. This matchup hasn’t taken place since 2020, and with it being the first meeting between Bo Nix and Caleb Williams, plus Dan Lanning and Lincoln Riley, the storylines are going to take care of themselves. What about the football, though? That may be a different story. While the Ducks are rolling, the Trojans are currently reeling, coming off a tough 52-42 loss to the Washington Huskies this past weekend. With the game in Autzen, it’s no surprise that Oregon is favored. It will be interesting to see how high the number grows over the coming days. Let’s take a look at where things opened, courtesy of FanDuel SportsBook... No. 6 Oregon vs. No. 20 USC: Ducks open as 2 TD favorites over Trojans DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM The Oregon Ducks are big home favorites over the visiting USC Trojans in the first meeting between the two since 2020.

BREAKING: USC Defensive Coordinator Alex Grinch Fired
Pennsylvania Duck replied to Joe F's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Oregon fans react to USC firing DC Alex Grinch a week before Duck game They really couldn’t have waited one more week? That’s likely what a lot of Oregon Duck fans are thinking right about now after the news broke that the USC Trojans officially fired defensive coordinator Alex Grinch, one of the most scrutinized coordinators in all of college football. USC’s 52-42 loss to the Washington Huskies on Saturday night — the Trojans’ third loss in the last four games — was the straw that broke the camel’s back, with Michael Penix leading Washington to a big-time victory on the road. It was actually Washington RB Dillon Johnson who did the most damage, rushing for 256 yards and 4 touchdowns in the win. After being pegged as a College Football Playoff contender before the season started, USC’s porous defense quickly identified itself as a major hindrance. This season alone, the Trojans gave up more than 40 points in four games and had the No. 121 ranked scoring defense in the nation. This came after a year where nobody could understand why Lincoln Riley decided to keep Grinch on his staff, with the Trojans’ defense being one of the main reasons for their ultimate downfall. As you can expect, the college football world, and particularly the Oregon Ducks’ fanbase, had a lot to say about the firing on Sunday afternoon. Here are some of the best reactions from the day...
