I'm not surprised at this kind of grit from a guy of my generation, who played his college ball at West Point under Bobby Knight.

Jon, I totally agree. When you think of what he has accomplished in his career with playing at West Point, college coaching, Olympics coaching, and many others, he just seems a step above others. There is something to be said for the "older" generation!

  2. Hello Charles. I am a pretty new member, just two weeks. However, I visited the site many times prior to joining. One of the reasons I wanted to join was the result of your rules. I didn't want a site like Facebook where people would get into nasty arguments and name calling which resulted in making a discussion impossible. I like how different views can be expressed and everyone stays civil here!  It's ok to agree to disagree.

Since you run the site and put in all the time and effort for us, you do whatever you feel is right. You seem like a fair person to me. This site needs a certain type of person for membership in order for it to run correctly and if someone can't follow the rules, ban them and don't look back. Stress is not good for your health!

  3. I became a Duck when I was accepted to Oregon in 1970. My first Duck football game was that fall, during the days of Dan Fouts and Bobby Moore (Ahmad Rashad). I remember the game was so long that we missed dinner at the dorm. However, my fondest memories were of track meets at Heyward Field. Our dorm looked towards Heyward and we could see Pre practicing every day. To this day, I have not witnessed the energy of a track meet like at Heyward. The good old days!

  4. I live in Pennsylvania and I find it so difficult to follow the Ducks. With the sports package from Verizon, we can follow all the conferences, except the PAC 12. Maybe it is just me not doing the settings right, but streaming just doesn't come in with the same quality on our tv. "PAC 12 After Dark" may be a catchy marketing phrase, but it means that I will probably fall asleep before the first half is over!

Any game that starts at 10:00PM or later Eastern Time (which is most west coast games) is tough to watch. The PAC 12's media deals have cut them off from vast portions of the country and I think that is a major issue leading to disrespecting the conference, if for no other reason because people are not aware. Besides the Ohio State game this past year, most of my acquaintances have no idea how/what the Ducks or PAC 12 are doing.

I just found this site recently and it is keeping me updated on the Ducks! I've enjoyed catching up on all the happenings. I'm hoping these Lanning era Ducks will be on national tv more next season.
