Former Pac-12 Schools Likely to Still Play in Bowls With Pac-12 Tie-Ins
The 10 schools leaving the Pac-12 likely will still play in Pac-12 affiliated bowls the next two seasons and not in bowl tie-ins with their new conferences, sources told Action Network. The former Pac-12 schools are not expected to play in bowls with their new conferences for multiple reasons, conference and bowl sources told Action Network. The contracts between the conferences and the bowls don’t end until after the 2025 season. With only Oregon State and Washington State remaining in the Pac-12 in 2024, the six bowls with Pac-12 ties could not be filled without drawing from other conferences. Because of the mass exodus of Pac-12 schools, all the stakeholders involved are seeking a temporary solution until the new bowl contracts begin in 2026, sources said. “Out of a series of not-great options, the most workable — short of blowing up the bowl system and the (35 non-playoff) bowl contracts — is to have the former Pac-12 schools sent to Pac-12 bowls for two more years,” a source said. https://www.actionnetwork.com/ncaaf/former-pac-12-schools-bowl-tie-ins?utm_source=Twitter&utm_medium=Social&utm_campaign=BrettMcMurphy

College Football Bowl Projections: Our Expert’s Early Predictions for 2024
Remember, this is just for fun. Even though, cough cough "click bait"🙄 is not happening here. Projected number of teams per conference: 4 Big Ten 4 SEC Notre Dame 1 ACC 1 Big 12 1 Group of 5 Why release my never-too-early 2024 bowl projections in February, while several critical details impacting the bowl system are still pending? For example, where will former Pac-12 teams be placed, or how many automatic conference championship bids will be included in the new 12-team playoff? Some skeptics and conspiracy theorists will claim this is all a ploy to get clicks — "EXCLUSIVE PHOTOS: Taylor and Travis abducted by UFO after Super Bowl party." Google, are you seeing this!? "Taylor and Travis engaged! Pregnant?!?" I, for one, am offended by those baseless accusations. This is simply continuing a tradition like no other — "Tiger Woods joins LIV Tour for $5 gazillion" — here at Action Network in providing the best bowl projections on the planet, no matter what month it is. #TAYLORSWIFT #SUPERBOWL #ENDOFWORLD This season marks the debut of the 12-team playoff, as chosen by the College Football Playoff selection committee. The Cliff Notes version: the five highest-ranked conference champions — regardless of ranking — receive an automatic bid to the playoff with the final spots going to the remaining seven highest-ranked teams. The four highest-ranked conference champions receive byes into the quarterfinals and will be seeded Nos. 1-4 regardless of their ranking (yes, even if they're “ranked” No. 3, 5, 12 and 24.) Onto my never-too-early 2024 bowl projections, along with the projected point spread of each matchup from Action Network senior writer Collin Wilson’s power betting ratings. *Conference champions projected to receive automatic bids https://www.actionnetwork.com/ncaaf/college-football-bowl-projections-early-predictions-2024

2024 BIG Info, Predictions, Etc
How quickly will the Oregon Ducks find success in the Big Ten? The entire landscape of college football will look different in 2024, with new teams in different conferences and an expanded College Football Playoff at the end of the year. For the Oregon Ducks, a move to the Big Ten Conference will have us enthralled as we try to figure out where they stand among their new foes, and how quickly they will be able to find success in the new landscape. This past week on the Sco-ing Long Podcast, I had the pleasure of talking to Dan Rubenstein, a well-respected football voice who is the co-host of the Solid Verbal College Football podcast. Though Rubenstein is an Oregon alum, he watches the sport through a national scope, and he is well-equipped to inform unsuspecting Duck fans of what they should expect in the new conference. An Oregon Ducks Fan Guide to the Big Ten Conference
All about the Nebraska Cornhuskers: The Nebraska Cornhuskers are one of the Big Ten Conference’s newer members, but their football tradition long predates their change in conference affiliation. A one-time powerhouse on the gridiron is still searching for consistent success this century, but Nebraska’s volleyball team has more than taken up the mantle — and packed the football stadium, too. As the Oregon Ducks prepare for a move to the Big Ten in 2024, The Oregonian/OregonLive is taking a look at all of their newest conference rivals. While Ducks fans might be deeply familiar with fellow Pac-12 departees Washington, USC and UCLA, they have 14 new teams to get to know this year. Next up is Nebraska. Report: Pac-12, Commissioner George Kliavkoff Part Ways; Agree to Contract Settlement
The future of the Pac-12 is perilous at best, but the conference will reportedly have a new commissioner moving forward. According to Ross Dellenger of Yahoo Sports, the Pac-12 and commissioner George Kliavkoff decided to part ways with a negotiated contract settlement. Dellenger noted the league sees Pac-12 deputy commissioner Teresa Gould as a potential replacement. This comes as anything but a surprise considering the uncertainty and change that has defined Kliavkoff's tenure since he was announced as commissioner in 2021. Oregon House Passes Bill to Stop NCAA from Punishing Schools, Athletes for NIL activity
It's already happening, Every State will eventually have this same type of law in place. A bill proposed in the Oregon House would amend the state’s law regarding college athlete name, image and likeness to prohibit the NCAA, conferences and any other athletics governing body from taking “adverse action” against an athlete or school due to actual or alleged violations of the governing body’s rules related to NIL. The measure would also permit NIL compensation to be contingent on an athlete attending a particular school and provides college and universities in the state and their employees with liability protections related to NIL activity. HB 4119 was read for the first time last week and a public hearing was held by the House Committee on Higher Education, which will hold a work session for the bill on Tuesday. The bill adds “athletic reputation” to the traits a college athlete can earn compensation from and looks to give liability protections to college and universities in the state, who would be permitted to participate in “identifying, facilitating, enabling or supporting opportunities for a current student athlete to exercise the student athlete’s” NIL rights without fear of penalty from the NCAA or other athletic governing body. As proposed, the bill would stop the NCAA or other athletics governing body from preventing a college or university or athlete from participating in college sports, “accept a complaint, open an investigation or take any other adverse action against” a school or athlete as the result of “a violation, or an alleged violation, of the rules or regulations of the athletic association, conference or organization related to a student athlete exercising the student’s (NIL) rights.” Proposed Oregon House bill would amend state NIL law to stop NCAA from penalizing schools, athletes for NIL activities WWW.OREGONLIVE.COM HB 4119 was read for the first time last week and a public hearing was held by the House Committee on Higher Education, which will hold a work session for the bill on Tuesday.
