  1. On Thursday afternoon, an interesting name popped up in the transfer portal when it was reported that Georgia Bulldogs’ former 5-star cornerback Jaheim Singletary was looking to leave Athens and find a new school to play for. Another intriguing name popped up in the portal on Friday morning, with Georgia edge defender MJ Sherman announcing that he would enter the portal as well. Both of these players are worth noting for Oregon Duck fans for a couple of reasons; they both fill positions of need for the Ducks, and they both have close ties to Oregon coach Dan Lanning. 8. Canzano: A look behind the curtain. Kevin Warren raided the Pac-12 and blew up 100 years of tradition while fortifying the Big Ten Conference. Good for him, I guess, but the commissioner must have figured there was nothing left for him to do in the college ranks. He’s going back to the pros where he was named President and CEO of the Chicago Bears on Thursday. To Warren, I say: “So long.” To the NFL, I say: “No handshake deals.” Canzano: Don't forget the 'fixer' who fixed Kevin Warren's act WWW.JOHNCANZANO.COM A look behind the curtain.

  21. "There are many ways to determine who the best recruits in high school sports are each year, but one of the best ways that have come about over the past few decades is to look at who was named the Gatorade Player of the Year. Gatorade highlights dozens of spectacular athletes across all sports, and they award the top player from each state year after year. While this isn’t a perfect way to determine who the top 50 players in the nation are, since there are often multiple deserving players in each state, it goes to show who the most talented player in all 50 states is. In the world of football, the 50 winners were announced on Friday, January 6, and it turns out that the Oregon Ducks are well represented. We wanted to celebrate those players for their achievements and look at a couple of other players — one potential future Duck, and another former Duck — that made the cut as well."
