  1. Why the Washington Huskies must go down, Bo Nix vs. Marcus Mariota, Oregon Ducks’ bright B1G future: Talkin’ Ducks
  2. Oregon hosts former UTSA cornerback Kam Alexander for visit Ducks Wire can now confirm previous reports that the Oregon Ducks hosted former UTSA Roadrunners cornerback Kam Alexander on a recruiting visit over the weekend. The initial report came from On3, and since has been confirmed by sources with knowledge of the situation. Alexander played a single season at UTSA after transferring from Sam Houston. At UTSA, he racked up 34 tackles, 2 TFL, 1 sack, 2 INTs, and 15 PBUs in 13 games. He entered the transfer portal in late December and has been taking a handful of visits since then. Alexander has one year of eligibility remaining thanks to a redshirt season in 2022. The Ducks lost starting CB Khyree Jackson to the NFL Draft this offseason, so they are looking at potential replacements in the transfer portal to add to an already talented group of young defensive backs on the roster. 4. After missing the first seven weeks of the season with a lower leg injury, Jacobs returned in week eight of the 2023 season against Washington State, where he recorded six tackles with a tackle for loss and one sack. Jacobs split time with Jamal Hill for the final eight games of the season, lining up at the MAC linebacker spot opposite Bassa. Overall, Jacobs finished with 32 tackles, with a season-high of eight against Washington in the Pac-12 Championship Game. After transferring from Iowa in the offseason, Jacobs was seen as a likely starter opposite of Bassa until he was injured in fall camp. Hill was the starter in Oregon's Fiesta Bowl victory but Jacobs started five of the final six games of the season. Jacobs finished the year with 286 snaps on the defense, averaging 36 snaps per game. 5. There were a lot of great things that came out of the Oregon Ducks’ 2023 football season. Whether it was another year of double-digit wins, a Heisman campaign for quarterback Bo Nix, or a solidification of the Ducks as one of the premier teams in the world of college football, I think many fans would tell you after all is said and done that it was an incredibly successful season for Dan Lanning and his team. In the end, I think one of the ways we will remember this season the most is for its introduction of the cinematic recap in Eugene. For the first time ever, the Ducks deployed a video team to put together highlights in movie-like fashion after each win, giving fans a look at locker-room access, sideline conversations, and of course, touchdowns. The recaps started after the Week 2 game vs. Texas Tech, and continued throughout the season, arguably getting better and better as time went on. We continually got more and more access, with the eventual introduction of coaches’ headset audio on the sideline and multiple looks at positional meetings throughout the week. To help celebrate the year of the recap, I went through the 12 videos that were released by the team and ranked them from best to worst. Of course, the recaps that came in at the bottom of the rankings were not bad by any means, but they simply weren’t as spectacular as those at the top of the rankings. Here is my definitive cinematic recap ranking from the 2023 season: Oregon Ducks: Ranking the best cinematic recaps from the 2023 season DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM A ranking of the best cinematic recaps that the Oregon Ducks released throughout the 2023 college football season. What would your order of rankings be?
  6. Noah Whittington is back. The former Western Kentucky running back confirmed on social media Friday afternoon that he will return for a third year with the Ducks in 2024. Whittington was a fixture in the backfield in 2022, but an injury suffered early in the 2023 campaign sidelined him for the remainder of the season. With Bucky Irving heading to the NFL Draft, Whittington figures to have a featured role within the offense next fall. 12. Transfer portal: Schools to watch for Ole Miss RB Quinshon Judkins One of college football's top-rated running backs has informed the Ole Miss staff he intends to the enter the transfer portal. Ole Miss sophomore running back Quinshon Judkins, who's coming off his second-consecutive stellar season with the Rebels, is planning to enter the transfer portal would instantly become one of this cycle's highest-rated players. Judkins rises to the top of the priority list for several schools to watch in search of a difference-making RB1 in 2024, including a few early College Football Playoff frontrunners. Judkins rushed for 106 yards and caught a touchdown during the Rebels' 38-25 win over Penn State in the Peach Bowl and finished with 1,158 yards this fall, a year after gashing SEC defenses for 1,567 yards and 16 scores as a true freshman. Programs with expansive NIL arms will be in the mix for Judkins, who stars at a premium position. Judkins did not speak on his future plans for 2024 prior to the Peach Bowl last week and instead kept his focus on finishing what he started with the Rebels during a historic campaign. Given the hype surrounding the Rebels and what they have returning from an 11-win team, this move is a bit surprising. Here are six schools to watch for Judkins in the transfer portal: Transfer portal: Schools to watch for Ole Miss RB Quinshon Judkins 247SPORTS.COM One of college football's top-rated running backs has informed the Ole Miss staff he intends to the enter the transfer portal.
  13. During the football season, podcasts were included with the game for that week. Podcasts still are taking place, just not as often. I also have noticed that the podcasts now are covering more than just football. For instance, the one following includes some talk about basketball. Those podcasts will now be posted under this thread as they occur. Also, older podcasts will be deleted as we will keep the thread to no more than 50 podcasts at a time. Check back often for some informative listening...
