    Oregon Football's wide receiver room is a strength in 2024 and beyond | Oregon Ducks Podcast

     

     

    Oregon has not been known as a wide receiver school when it comes to putting players in the NFL, but WR coach Junior Adams is doing great work to change that. That position group should be a strength in 2024 and beyond as long as he's at the helm for that position group on Dan Lanning's staff.

     

    On today's episode of Locked On Ducks, Spencer McLaughlin is joined by Jared Mack of 247Sports and the 'Autzen Audibles' podcast. He shares what he expects to see in the first two Spring practices of the year for the Ducks in 2024.

     

    Jared also shares insight on the Oregon Baseball team, fresh off a 15-5 loss at home on Tuesday against Portland. Though it didn't show in that game, the Ducks' pitching staff has been much better so far this year compared to 2023.

    Oregon Ducks spring practice observations: 28 newcomers on roster, 2 departures, absent cornerback

     

    EUGENE — Oregon opened its third spring under Dan Lanning on Thursday with 28 scholarship newcomers, two offensive linemen no longer with the team and an injured cornerback absent.

     

    Offensive tackles Faaope Laloulu and Michael Wooten are no longer on the roster, nor is walk-on tight end Kaden Ludwick, who transferred from Colorado last year. Cornerback Jahlil Florence (right knee) was not on the field at the Hatfield-Dowlin Complex on Thursday, which was expected. Linebacker Bryce Boettcher, who is also hurt, did not attend practice.

    Top-ranked Oregon Prospects Schedule Official Visits in Eugene this Summer

    After a long offseason, spring football is starting to dominate the conversation with the Oregon Ducks starting practice later this week and continuing through the month of April. However, as is always the case, recruiting has a spot in that conversation as well. 

     

    Things have been quiet over the past month with the dead period, but as things have started to open back up, we’re seeing some big-time recruiting visits get on the schedule for the coming months, with Dan Lanning and the Ducks preparing to host some of the top-ranked players in the nation. 

     

    In the past week, a group of blue-chip recruits have scheduled their official visits for this summer, where they will come to Eugene on the Ducks’ dime. Here’s a look at which players have scheduled their OVs so far:

    Dan Lanning has won 10 and 12 games in his 2 seasons at Oregon, the latter of which has only been done 6 times in Duck history (all since 2010). Stewart Mandel of The Athletic recently ranked Lanning as the 25th best coach in the country--and that's way, WAY too low.
