  16. 15 young Oregon Ducks who have big-time breakout opportunities in the Fiesta Bowl It’s the time of the year when we see football rosters in flux across the nation, whether it be due to players leaving via the transfer portal, or others opting out of bowl games and declaring for the NFL Draft. That means that there are holes to fill on teams playing in bowl games across the nation, and young players with opportunities to step up and make a name for themselves. In other words, it’s a perfect opportunity for breakouts to take place. “Every one of these games, you’re gonna see somebody who probably hasn’t made a huge impact throughout the season that shows up in a bowl game,” Lanning said after practice on Friday. “So I’m excited to see the progress they make over these next several weeks. And then the opportunity to get on the field and make an impact.” The Oregon Ducks have seen a good amount of roster turnover so far since the season ended, with a handful of players entering the transfer portal, and a few others declaring for the draft. We will undoubtedly see more of both take place between now and the Fiesta Bowl against Liberty on New Year’s Day. So with those departures comes a chance for some young players to step up. Here are the guys who we have our eye on to potentially have a breakout in the bowl game: 15 Oregon Ducks who have breakout opportunities in the Fiesta Bowl DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM A look at some of the young Oregon Ducks on the roster with the biggest breakout opportunities in the Fiesta Bowl.
  17. Despite the transfer portal being in full swing, Oregon has continued to dive into the high school levels and has offered a slew of prospects over the past few days. With multiple weeks between the Pac-12 Championship Game and the Ducks' next matchup in the Fiesta Bowl on January 1st, Oregon's coaching staff has been in full recruiting mode. Despite the transfer portal taking up most of the air in the college football world, signing day remains right around the corner. It's clear that over the past few years, the earlier coaching staffs connect with players, the better. Oregon's 2024 class consists of 24 recruits, most of whom commit before college football season begins. Oregon's coaching staff has taken pictures nationwide with current commits, high school coaches, and more while posting them to social media. The Ducks brand is nationwide at this point, as are the offers they give out. Oregon offers multiple players in the 2025, 2026, and 2027 classes 247SPORTS.COM Despite the transfer portal being in full swing, Oregon has continued to dive into the high school levels and has offered a slew of prospects over the past few days.
  18. Oregon Reportedly Hosting 5-Star Quarterback Transfer After Landing Dillon Gabriel Oregon is hosting another top quarterback in the transfer portal after landing former Oklahoma quarterback Dillon Gabriel. Per On3's Pete Nakos, UCLA transfer quarterback Dante Moore is going to visit Oregon starting on Thursday. Oregon is trying to land him so the program can develop him next to Gabriel. Moore just wrapped up his freshman season at UCLA. In nine games, Moore completed 53.5% of his passes for 1,610 yards, 11 touchdowns, and nine interceptions. He committed to UCLA as part of its 2023 recruiting class and was the top player in his home state (Michigan), plus the fifth-best recruit in the country, per 247Sports composite rankings. Oregon is trying to revamp its quarterback room since Bo Nix is set to be in the 2024 NFL Draft. The Ducks won 11 games this year and will try and make it 12 in the Fiesta Bowl against the Liberty Flames on Jan. 1. https://thespun.com/more/top-stories/oregon-reportedly-hosting-5-star-quarterback-transfer-after-landing-dillon-gabriel
  19. Report: Ducks to get visit from Kansas State safety Kobe Savage Report: Ducks to get visit from Kansas State safety Kobe Savage DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM The Oregon Ducks are expecting to get a visit from Kansas State transfer safety Kobe Savage at some point this weekend, per a report.
  20. Predicting Landing Spots for Biggest Names in the 2023 Transfer Portal Walter Nolen, Defensive Tackle The top player in this year's transfer portal just so happens to be the same guy who was the top overall player in the 2022 recruiting class. During that cycle, the 5-star from Memphis, Tennessee, who played his high school senior season in Knoxville decided to play his college ball at Texas A&M for Jimbo Fisher. And after working his way into the rotation as a freshman, he began to blossom this year. He's a huge player at 6'4", 285 pounds, but he still possesses incredible athleticism at that size and can get after quarterbacks aggressively from the center of the line. He finished his sophomore season with 37 tackles, including 8.5 for a loss, and four sacks. "Disrupter" is a great way to describe Nolen, and many teams around the nation want him, even if it likely will be for just one season before he leaves early for the NFL. Steve Wiltfong and Matt Zenitz of 247Sports reported Nolen visited Oregon this weekend and Ole Miss will get the next shot at him. They also noted Alabama, Florida, Texas and USC were trying to get in the mix, and while Tennessee was mentioned early on, there isn't a lot of buzz surrounding the Vols right now. The Ducks are normally very active and aggressive in the portal, but will Nolen head that far away from home to play his college ball? If the Crimson Tide and Longhorns get firmly in the mix, both programs would be a threat, and Lane Kiffin is a top-tier recruiter. For now, though, let's roll with Dan Lanning. Prediction: Oregon Predicting Landing Spots for Biggest Names in the 2023 Transfer Portal BLEACHERREPORT.COM There are so many quality players in this year's transfer portal, the options of where they may end up are dizzying. Already, we've seen potential superstars…
