Instead, Petitti is engaged in significant "horse trading," according to multiple sources, to get the NBC primetime deal finished and figure out what the network calls "outstanding issues" in order to uphold as much value as possible. "These deals aren't done, and they aren't what they were represented to be from the standpoint of the NBC deal and the availability of all members to participate in November games in primetime," said an industry source. Charles Fischer Administrator No. 2 Share Posted May 22, 2023 They don't want to play night games in November...and yet they are used to it? I am picturing the LA schools, and laughing. Dave23 No. 3 Share Posted May 22, 2023 This is probably a good indication of why the PAC deal is taking so long. Lots and lots of complicated negotiations with multiple parties involved. The PAC 12 Networks having not been sold off may just be the one thing that Larry did right, just maybe.

Jon Joseph Moderator No. 5 Share Posted May 22, 2023 And it's not like Fox is rolling in dough right about now. GK as others have noted is dealing with a tougher media market than even a year ago. Rumor also has it that ESPN is having difficulty coming up with the money a year earlier than expected for Oklahoma and Texas. The B12 talks a big game but where is the money going to come from to add additional teams? This is all headed to pay for view so getting on board with streaming now likely makes a lot of sense and cents, in the long run.
