Posted June 2, 20232 yr Administrator Oregon 5, Xavier 4 at the end of 8 innings! Can the Ducks get three more outs? Closer Josh Mollerus is on the hill! ( He did) All of the Xavier runs scored started from walks...yarrg! The 10th Save of the season for Mollerus, and the 4th win of the season for Austin Anderson. Nishida went 2-4 at the plate. Shade went 2-4 as well. Drew Smith kept his hitting streak going, as he set a new program record at 19 in the Pac-12 tournament, and now has gone to 20 games in a row with a hit! Oregon used five pitchers resourcefully, and thus all could pitch again, I'm sure. Mercado 2 innings Grinsell 2 innings McShane 1.2 innings (One inning and two outs) Anderson 1.1 innings Dallas 1 inning Mollerus 1 inning It is the 38th win of the season for Oregon and they play Saturday night at 6:00 PM PST. (Winner of Illinois State and Vanderbilt) Mr. FishDuck
June 3, 20232 yr Moderator Ditto here. Thanks Charles, for the video highlights. I had to miss the game and didn't tape it. ".@ColbyShade goes high off the left-field wall to tie the game. #GoDucks" Watch that one again and see Shade wait on that high hanging inside breaking ball. Woulda been a dinger twenty feet to the right. As one who always had trouble with that pitch in high school, I greatly appreciate the eye and patience of the hitter who can send it for a big ride. On to the winner's round for the Ducks!
June 3, 20232 yr Thanks for the replays, had to listen on Internet radio while I worked. The pitching down the stretch and a few errors on Xavier made all the difference in this one.
