Posted October 3, 20213 yr Several injuries, serious ones too, and many slips by players, is real grass the problem? Very few stadiums at any level use real grass. Players aren't used to it. Is this an issue worth pursuing for player safety?
October 3, 20213 yr Administrator I have no expertise with the new surfaces at all. I played in High School on Grass/mud and on AstroTurf in Parker Stadium as Crescent Valley used that as the home field in the early days of the school in the 70s. I recall "turf-burn," but that is about it. Mr. FishDuck

Great question! Yes, I believe it impacts games and could affect injuries. It seems like Oregon played someone years ago in grass. Oregon changed their cleats at half-time, the opponent didn't and Oregon played better. Might be a dream. I think it's past time to go all artificial, even in the Rose Bowl. I found this blog after the 2011 Duck vs 🌳 game. https://bearinsider.com/forums/2/topics/44526 Here's another great throwback article on how important uniform and shoe changes inspired players. https://fishduck.com/2011/08/the-1989-independence-bowl-how-oregon-overcame-years-of-suffering-thanks-to-an-old-pair-of-shoes/
