Coach Will Stein barely gets here, and gets Rivals 4-Star QB Michael Van Buren to commit, (has since been released from verbal) then adds Luke Moga, who was a Rivals 3-Star,and since been elevated to 4-Star, and then secures the verbal of one of the best QBs in the nation in Rivals 2025 4-Star Akili Smith Jr!

 

But wait!  He then recruits the best portal QB in the nation in Dillon Gabriel, and now adds former 5-Star Dante Moore?  (Five QBs?  Are you kidding me?)

 

 

This has never happened at Oregon, and I cannot imagine how

Stein would NOT be the best QB recruiter in the nation.

 Guess this guy is a keeper Charles.😂

WS has a lot going for him.  He's a highly intelligent, highly creative offensive mind who was a former college QB.  Which means he can talk to HS QBs at a level they can relate to.  Add to that Oregon's football program success and vast resources and you have a shark in the recruiting waters!

Was he even a candidate for the Broyles award? If not, what a shame.

Boy, we all knew nothing about Stein or A'lique Terry for OL coach, yet Lanning did as these guys are killing it.  We all had doubts, but by now I should trust Lanning more!

 

Looks like we have fully recovered from Mariø. Although Mariø still has the highest rated qb recruit in program history. This should make us all ponder our obsession about the star ratings, potential.

 

If he turns Dante into what is projected then we can all agree he is the best recruiter, developer ever.

 

It seems right now Helfrich has the crown, picked Marcus and fell into Justin. That is a pretty high bar.

You could make the case that Helfrich was the best evaluator of QB talent but he wasn’t an elite recruiter.

 

IIRC, Tua Tagovailoa grew up a Marcus Mariota and Oregon Ducks fan. There is no way that Lanning and Stein would have let Tua get away (see Dillon Gabriel).

Will Stein is definitely, doing great things. Huge things. From his Offensive chops and mind, to the QB Room. This WHOLE staff from the Bottom all the way, to the very Top is doing amazing things and killing it right now

 

Even with the Transfer Portal. And NIL Money flowing about. In Today's new era of college football, that we now live in. You still have to be Relatable, to all of these guys. When getting them to thinking about Transferring In (With the Portal), or Flipping to your School, or Committing to your School right out of High School. Will Stein is doing all of those things. He's a QB coach, that big time recruits want to play for. And that they can Relate to
