Where Our Coaches Rank in the BIG and Nationally in Regard to Recruiting

Recommended Posts

Don't kill the messenger, but hard to believe bringing in the DL class only rates Tosh 5th in the BIG and 16th nationally.  Or, Tuioti 16th BIG and 62nd nationally.

Not to mention Dan the man coming in at 63rd in the BIG.

Here's a rundown of how Oregon's assistant coaching staff stacks up among others nationally and in the Big 10 conference.

Puzzling. But where the rubber meets the road a lot of rubber hit the road in Eugene.

The B10 is a much bigger pond than the now defunct Pac12.  That being said these rankings do feel a bit subjective.  But at the end of the day the proof will be in the pudding (or more aptly, on the field).  I like Oregon's potential for the biggest splash of the 4 incoming West coast teams next season.

Going to have to win big several big games and not just against the other three. Signature wins will be necessary against the OSU,PS & Mich.

Where are the comparative ranks? It's really hard to follow the logic of these rankings without seeing where other coaches are ranked. Especially when this staff has landed a top 10 class twice now.

These rankings just don't seem fair. I mean Ohio State, Michigan, PSU, sure. I could see those three teams out recruiting Oregon any given year. However that's hardly putting Oregon in the bottom of the Big ten.

How can our coaches be ranked 14th, 16th, or worse and still end up with the top 10 class?

Coach Lanning @ 63rd?? ... So this article expects me to believe that there are 62 coaches that are better at recruiting than Dan Lanning?? .... yeaaah... sure.

Seems bogus.

The only thing that matters is where the team ends up.

This is a very encouraging sign that Lanning is doing his job the way it should be done.

As the CEO of the team he needs to be able to delegate and concentrate on all the players coming in not just the glory of being the primary on the big recruits.

Dan is doing this extremely well and the numbers show it. With the team having a top 5 recruiting class and Lanning ranked in the '60s that means he's a team player with a leadership roll. As a small business owner you know you're doing a good job when every one is shouldering the burden equally and working as a team.
