Posted January 19, 20241 yr Moderator Not sure if you have listen to this full video from Josh Pate, about a week old, but it's really good. 8.5 minutes Long. This was from a Bama fan: I believe Dan Lanning will be the next great college football coach in the history of college football... he has the youth, the skill, the gravitas, and the courageous dedication... and, I believe this as a lifelong Bama fan... too bad he won't come to Bama but that is part and parcel of his greatness... his dedication to his school, team, and fans... much like Nick Saban.

January 20, 20241 yr Administrator This is an incredible video. The quotes from it...just blow me away. Every Oregon fan should hear this video! So grateful to NJDuck for finding it and posting it. Where would we be without these selfless volunteers putting in huge hours for all of US? Mr. FishDuck
January 20, 20241 yr I love everything that Josh Pate is saying. It gets me fired up for the future. Only one thing I disagree on is that, “ no Oregon coach has turned down a premier program to stay at Oregon.” I do recall that Mike Belotti turned down USC while he was coaching the ducks. But a bright outlook indeed.

But a bright outlook indeed. And Oregon State's head coach turned it down as well. But USC wound up with Pete Carroll so they're not complaining. But they are still recovering from those high expectations set. But I suppose we can forgive Pate for that oversight... He's a southern guy and that bit of Oregon trivia is a bit obscure. But in the last decade + at this point he's right. Edited January 20, 20241 yr by David Marsh
