An academic ranking of P4/G5 CFB programs. The B1G is behind the SEC in many respects including recruiting, NFL picks, and CFB titles, but leads the list here with 10 schools in the top 25. The SEC has 4 in the top 25.

B1G - T3. - UCLA/ 5. NW/ 11. USC/ 12. Michigan/ T18. - Illinois and UW/ 21. Wisconsin/ 22. Maryland/ 23. Rutgers/ 24. Purdue

Just missed - 27. Ohio State - FYI - Oregon No. 48/ Oregon State and Wazzu tied at No. 59.

SEC - T9 Vandy/ T13. Florida/ 17. Texas/ 25. A+M.

Just missed - 26. Georgia - FYI T 76. (Should be easier for deBoer to recruit to, right Jimmy?)

On the B1G expansion radar screen? - 16. Notre Dame/ 15. UNC/ 28. Florida State/ T39. Clemson / 41. Miami (!)

When it comes to the field of play, better to have a Blue Chip Ranking, like Oregon, than to be in the top 25 here. And yes, it's a long off-season.

BTW - Using US News and World Report and Forbes rankings: 1. Princeton, 2. Stanford, 3. Cal. (Where have you gone, Harvard and Yale?)

Imagine the smiles in dawgland as they remind us they are 'academically prowess'.

And just to ensure we all smile, here is Jimmy's quote:

“I think that is way more pumped up [by the media] than it is. Our battles are really … the schools that we go against are way more … have academic prowess — like the University of Washington. Notre Dame, Stanford, USC. We go with a lot of battles toe-to-toe all the way to the end with those schools. So I think that’s made up a lot and pumped up in your [media] world. In our world, we battle more academically prowess teams.”

That wording never sat right with me. I don't think it's correct. Lemme ask chatgpt 😆

'No, "academically prowess" is not correct. If you're trying to express academic skill or excellence, you could say "academically proficient" or "academically skilled" instead.'

Hmmm.... I mean, a guy from ewwdub is probably smarter than AI... Right?

Harvard and Yale are starting to show their cracks but it take a long time for them to become apparent. Academic reputations are often 20+ years behind the times.
