Any player down to the Ducks and a few others or one other will likely still be recruited by Dan and friends until the 1st signing date.

LSU got one over Dan yesterday but earlier Dan got one who was once 'committed' to LSU. It ain't over so long as the fat money NIL collectives continue to sing.

His commitment will air live on his Instagram page and on the On3 YouTube Channel. His commitment is set to air starting at 3 PM PST on Friday.

Scouting Report:

Rangy safety prospect who has the ability come downhill and be force player in the run game, play center field as a single high safety, or match up in man to man in the slot. Tremendous versatility in the secondary at the next level and beyond. Physical and violent player, not afraid to stick his head into traffic and make plays around the line of scrimmage. Excellent burst and trigger out of his backpedal. Strong ability to read and diagnose what offenses are doing in front of him. Need to see more from him in terms of ball production, but has excellent ball skills and ability to high point the football. Excellent upside with a frame that should be able to fill out with ease in a collegiate strength and conditioning program.

5-star safety Trey McNutt moves commitment date to August 3

Shaker Heights Ohio) High On3 Industry five-star safety Trey McNutt was set to announce his commitment on Friday evening Florida, Ohio State, Oregon, Texas A&M and USC.

One of those schools will have to wait a few weeks to hear the good news of his decision though, as On3’s Steve Wiltfong reports that McNutt will now go public with his choice on August 3.

The decision to move it comes because a few key people he would like to be in attendance will not be able to make it on Friday, according to Wiltfong.

Ah man, that gives Texas A&M extra time to further worm their way into his recruitment. Hopefully that doesn't happen.

Supposedly had family coming in from out of town to celebrate and due to the airline computer fiasco

today their flights were canceled.

But agree the extra time is concerning.

Here's my look at the whole extra time thing.

It really doesn't matter a whole lot until the papers are signed and even then with the transfer portal that doesn't even matter as much anymore. Coaches will tend to stay in contact and continue to recruit until it's all over and they are at another school and then there might be some back channel recruiting about the portal. If a player verbals today I know they are mostly locked in but it isn't ever over in this environment.

If he's truly a Duck then he'll be a Duck in a couple weeks.

The NIL games in the background heat up and cool down but they never go away.

I started to pay attention at the micro level, this is a solid reminder why I avoid doing so 😜
