David Marsh No. 2 Share Posted October 27 Would it be cool to get another Heisman? Absolutely. Right now Gabriel and the Ducks have 3 top 25 wins. The other front runners can't say that.

And I'll say it... I'm going to have to wash my mouth out afterwards. But Penix probably should have won it last year. Daniels was incredible but the Heisman has tended to go to great teams and LSU was good but not great. Washington had some more meaningful wins than LSU. Heisman voting is as much regional as it is about statement wins. This year will be interesting in that regard. Does Gabriel get the B1G and West Coast votes? Does that propel him to victory?

The way the season played out; I have to agree about Penix, although maybe Washington just isn't allowed to have a Heisman winner. If this season continues the way it's going I think it comes down to Gabriel and the No.1 Ducks against Hunter and the Buffs. Regionally, it will be close, but I think the Gabriel gets it, Woodson beat Manning out in 1997.

Well... I say it's about time as we haven't had a Duck Hawaiian QB win the Heisman for 10 years!
Augduck No. 8 Share Posted October 28 Same here- hard to say it but Penix did deserve it. DeBoer just did not do as good of a job of campaigning for Penix as Kelly did for Daniels. And remember Kelly kept Daniels in games when they were way out of reach so he could pad his stats.

Agreed, what Penix did for that team, he saved DeBoer a couple times with his magic... I also think Penix had just "ok" games at the end of the season that hurt his perception (WSU and OSU), meanwhile to your point, Daniels kept throwing up ridiculous numbers.
