Ohio Stadium felt more like a morgue than a fun fan experience Saturday against Nebraska. Why can't the Shoe be more like...

Ohio State and Oregon played a Big Ten game Oct. 12 in an Autzen Stadium environment epitomizing what college football should be – a fun and frenetic fan experience in a rip-and-roar atmosphere that amplified home field advantage.

Two weeks later, the Buckeyes defeated Nebraska 21-17 in Ohio Stadium. It got loud enough that the Cornhuskers were flagged for a false start on their final drive, but for most of the game it was snoozy, and it never got Autzen loud, despite almost double the crowd size.

He gets it.

Oregon won't get better PR than that article. The writer just kept listing the ways it was Oregon > Ohio State. The fans are disinterested, students drift in around the end of the 1st quarter. Oregon has, "Shout". Ohio State has, "Hang on, Sloopy"

The columnist corroborates what we all thought.

Ohio State is stodgy, old money. They spent $20 M in NIL, shouldn't that have been enough to win the B1G again? Michigan's rebuilding. They heard about the noise at Autzen. Bu they took it as seriously as they took the Ducks football team.

Oregon, the team and the fans did break Ohio State.

Games against rivals, or highly ranked teams gets Duck fans at Autzen fired up. Once an opponent has a false start, and the crowd sees that there is now blood in the water, the noise level increases.

Opposing fans from the BIG just don’t understand how loud Autzen can get at field level. They will slowly find out.

I suspect that the open ended nature of the Horseshoe funnels a tremendous amount of the 'enthusiasm' expressed by Buckeye fans to bleed out into the surrounding countryside.

Just wait until we win the Natty, we add on, finish what was started, and rename Autzen Dan Lanning Stadium! Nothing will even come close.

Yeah, the rest of the Natty's after will just fill up space.
