November 20, 2024Nov 20 Boise State is ranked higher than a Big 12 team. Soooo... As it stands right now they get the Bye. So the Big 12 is a G5 conference now? Only paid more. This will create an uproar for sure.
November 20, 2024Nov 20 Author Moderator Boise St's one loss was to the #1 team, in their (our) house, by a FG. They've earned that #12 spot and maybe the first round bye. At the very least they deserve to be in the playoff.

That would make for a strange CCG. Granted I also wouldn't entirely put it past Lanning to game the system that way. But winning the B1G on his first year in the conference would be too freaking epic to pass up.

You can still get an autobid if you win your conference. But there is no way the Big-12 or ACC should be getting a bye this year.
