30Duck Moderator No. 1 Share Posted November 25 Al Davis didn't know what he was talkin' about. No doubt about it, Oregon is well-coached and has the roster to hang with and beat anyone. My biggest reservation is that they have not tasted defeat yet, leading to them potentially playing tight in a critical spot.
MicroBurst61 No. 2 Share Posted November 25 Ahhh but They Have been in a position a few times to have "smelled" defeat and rightfully turned it away. It's not like OBD has not been challenged this year. Just haven't let the "L" have it's way. This will serve them well over the next 5-6 games. Go Ducks! 1
Sandy Rocks No. 3 Share Posted November 25 For the players on the team from last year, they had some gut wrenching losses. Lanning always seems to motivate them.

I’d much rather the team have been challenged in tight games and have won (vs. lose). They have confidence that they will prevail, in the end (vs. any doubt), as they have every time in the past. Go Ducks!!! 1
30Duck Author Moderator No. 5 Share Posted November 25 I can't believe how wrong that thinking is, and he's lying. Would he think the Ducks would be better positioned to win the Natty if they had lost...to Boise State, Idaho. Ohio State? Yes, it would have been perfect, if at the end of the 8 week endurance test, Ferguson had dropped the 4th & 9 pass, or the interception hadn't happened, and they had lost at Wisconsin. But, darn those Ducks, they won.
Jon Joseph Moderator No. 6 Share Posted November 25 30, speaking of lying, it was Al Davis who hired Lame Kiffin and then accused Lame of being a liar when he kicked Kiffin out of Oakland. Lame, a coaching gift that keeps on giving.
