Independent's Day for Notre Dame!!!

Recommended Posts

Wanna know what Oregon is going to get because they're in a conference that has a revenue sharing distribution plan? Nah you already know that. Get this though, Notre Dame gets 20 million dollars for playing Monday.

It's not B1G vs the SEC. We should do something about those special rules those Domers get?

Notre Dame is part of the whitewashing that some are giving the CFP format now. "How can it be so bad, look at the blueblood Final Four?" Notre Dame getting the preferential treatment it does is proof that TV audience is driving college football.

However, they get zero if they have a down year and don't make it to a bowl with a high payout. So, they're essentially betting on themselves. I will add that they do get around $50M/year from NBC.

Doctor Jacks, good call; however, the Domers receive revenue from their broadcast deal with NBC every season that is not shared and ND gets a piece of the ACC media money.

Notre Dame played four G5 opponents this season and two true road games. It's 'Independence' is a $CAM.

ND plays ice hockey in the B1G and every other sport in the ACC, including lacrosse; ND won the NCAA lacrosse championship in 2024.

Agree. It's a scam.

One that ND takes to the bank every year!

Notre Dame has a unique place in college football. It's a much bigger version of BYU because most don't associate it with a region or state. The academic standards are high and they enforce them. I think the day is coming when they will be forced to join a conference because the fact they can make their own schedule, keep all their media and playoff revenue to themselves and avoid having to play an extra game and STILL get access to the playoff while everyone else has to participate in revenue sharing.

Notre Dame is keeping twenty million for the heavyweight fight on Monday. Ohio State is keeping one million. To them that's gotta feel like a slap to the face. When the negotiations come up I can see the B1G and SEC demanding more teams in exchange for expansion. I can also see an issue brought up over scheduling, seeding and Notre Dames special status.
