OFF TOPICS: For Your Interest (6)

Recommended Posts

You may not have noticed the menu bar in the header.  There is a new item called “News.”  We invited you to explore this section.

When you click on the word “News,” you will see an index of multiple links to sports news sites for your enjoyment!

Sometimes there are articles of interest, but they really don't merit their own thread...Those articles will now go in here.  These postings will relate back to OBD in some way.

From now on, except for a very few circumstances, our threads will be just one page.  Advertising only appears on the first page and we want to make as much money as possible for the site.  The bonus in doing this is that it will be easier for everyone to move around the thread.

You will always be able to refer to the previous thread for reference.  To see the previous thread for this topic click Here.

Be sure to come back often...You just might find something of interest to ponder...

This Thread is for News Articles ONLY.  You can always start a new thread with any of these articles for discussion.

Kalen DeBoer welcomes revenue sharing, says having 'a more balanced playing field' will help Alabama

Full Quote:

“The regulation is really important to the game itself,” the 50-year-old Alabama head coach told On3. “That regulation where we’re all on an even playing field from the revenue-sharing standpoint helps us, just because now it comes down to what is important in recruiting, and that’s relationships and sharing your vision.

“People that want to be aligned with your vision, and then come to a place like Alabama that has the resources, the tradition. The regulation and having a more balanced playing field helps our situation. It allows us to get where it was at one point just a few years back. Where recruiting is real recruiting, not just someone who’s gonna put in the highest bid.”

NIL was an area where Alabama notably struggled, despite its considerable financial resources. After enjoying more than a decade of straight-forward recruiting under Nick Saban — "Hey, do you want to come compete for a national championship every year while developing in the sport's top NFL pipeline?" — the Tide were caught relatively flat-footed by the NIL shift in the head coach's later years.

In other words, the Alabama head coach would really like it if the system would passively benefit Alabama again.

It’s certainly true that Alabama has never had an advantage financially over other schools in the past and always recruited on a level playing field. 😂😂😂😂😂.

My gosh what has Debochery been smoking. Whatever it is I certainly need some. I hope it’s not to expensive.
