Great Scott! Who Would Hire the Former Pac-12 Commissioner?

Recommended Posts

“Great Scott!” A term commonly expressed by Back to the Future’s Doc Brown when something urgent and unbelievable was happening. And, the term fits perfectly with the idea that anyone would consider hiring former Pac-12 commissioner, and total clown, Larry Scott. Mr. FishDuck took a break from his research of College football and NCAAF news, to share his disbelief at ...

Stay away, LPGA. I to have been following the Blazers the last couple of weeks. Last night they beat the 76ers, the game before they blew an 18 point lead and lost to the Cavaliers in OT. They are getting perilously close to the Playoffs, which, yes, is not where they want to be.

Even if they don't get the 1st pick, and Flagg, this is a deep draft; whoever they get would add to the team and maybe a chance to actually make some noise in the Playoffs. This should be a good NFL Draft for Duck watching, and, which team will pick Skattebo?

Thanks, Darren. Shouldn't Dean Wormer and Narcissus have made the list?

Larry - a con man who found a bunch of folk with no street sense that he could bamboozle. Why was a guy with zero college experience hired in the first place? And then the same fools doubled down on the next guy.

Tez - disappointing Combine. Came in at 154 pounds and did not have a good 40 time; over 4.5 seconds.

Harmon and Conerly both had excellent Combine showings.

It's good to be B1G and under the wings of Tony 'Speak Softly and Carry a B1G Stick' Petitti.

Blazers are in a very very weird place.  They have some interesting pieces in Avidja, Camara, Sharpe, Scoot, and I think eventually Clingen.  None of those players though are a superstar, I think you could get one all star out that group, Scoot has had a very good developing year after looking awful last year.  Billiups is an awful coach who has stifled the development of the young players.

They're too good to get a high draft pick, not good enough to do anything in the playoffs (if they get there, which would be a miracle).  They also can't get rid of Simons or Grant since those two have no value.  They'll have to settle for a very meager package for either one, but it's the right thing to do in order to put the young guys as the featured players.

It's a mess, a GM who won't pull the trigger on anything, a bad coach who is coaching to win instead of coaching to develop, and finally an owner who has no interest in this team but for whatever reason won't sell the team either!

In the end I actually like a lot of the players they have, I even like Ayton this year!  But it's not a team that is in a position to actually become a contender due to not committing to a full rebuild which is the worst thing to do as a franchise!!!

If they hire him, then they deserve what they get.  There is so much online about him, that this should be an easy decision, as I don't know how he could have done worse for the conference than what he did.

Completely agree. The Blazers are in NBA Purgatory, make the Playoffs, lose early, miss the Lottery.  They're in a nice run right now, hopefully it doesn't get them in the Playoffs, and maybe they'll get a good pick in a deep draft. Billups has to go, so does Cronin, status quo is a no go for the Blazers.

Wormer, of course. I could i have made a looooooooooooooonnng list. It's always amazing how poorly the Pac-12 and its presidents failed so miserably.

And, Jody Allen needs to sell the team. She doesn't care about it. Sell it to Phil, now!!!!

Simons is mentioned as tradable, but they shouldn't unless they really get something good in return, he's a stud.

Jody Allen needs to go. I don't think Cronin can do much as long as he's under her thumb and her best buddy, Bert Kolde, the Vice Chair.
