On3 posts Greg McElroy's Top 25 CFB Coaches.

ESPN analyst Greg McElroy ranked the top 25 coaches in college football ahead of the 2025 season, as we go through the long offseason.

Dan being behind Kirby Smart and Ryan Day? OK.

Behind Sark? Sark took B12 Texas to the Final 4 in 2023-24 and lost. The SEC handed Sark a B12 schedule in 2024, allowing Texas to make the 12-team field. If targeting was called as it should have been, Sark and Texas go down to B12 ASU in a game played in Atlanta that should have been played in Phoenix.

Freeman? 1st PO appearance last season. A season where The Irish played four G5 opponents, a bad FSU squad at home, and should have lost at USC. 1st round win over Indiana, one of the two teams, Boise State being the other, OBD should have played in the Rose Bowl. Then ND defeats a crippled Georgia team and a PSU team led by Little Game James.

Like the Indiana game in South Bend where the Hoosiers scored meaningless points late, the ND loss to TOSU was close only due to points scored by the Irish after the game was over.

The list comes with a caveat that it is subjective, but especially with Dabo returning Clemson to the PO in 2024-25, I don't understand how you rank a two-time national champ behind anyone other than Kirby and Day.

Is it August 30 yet?
