Notice the verbiage they use....for example referring to the "New-Look Pac-12" with the word "new" in it implies improved or better? Right...as losing Arizona State and replacing them with Texas State--who was playing Georgia Southern and Appalachian State last season is an improvement....right?

Note also they emphasize it being a "top-five" league? No, Beavis...there are only two Super-Conferences, and only four Power Conferences. You are with the rest of the Group-of-Six, and need to call it for what it is. You will compete with Liberty for the G6 spot in the Playoff, not as a conference champion.

The Pac-8 + Gonzo was ready to back the B12's push for a 2026-27 playoff format of 5 automatic qualifiers and seven at-large. Then they read the fine print.

The B12's support for the 5-11 is dependent upon all conferences playing nine conference games. OOOps! 🙃

The different look PAC12 should always be in the running for the last conference championship auto bid. Almost all the best American Athletic Conference football teams left. I'd say 9 out of 10 times, their champion will be the 5th highest ranked conference winner.

The B1G TEN and Big 12 are the only 2 conferences that play 9 conference games.

So the theory here is that a G6 with some 9-3 teams on the fringe of the top-25 is a shoe-in to place a team in the playoff?

During our downtime, I may have visited a Beavis site or two. There are still large segments of people, in their echo chamber at least, that believe the new PAC could end up with not one but TWO guaranteed playoff spots.

Is this the bill of goods that BSU and SDSU bought into? Really felt like those two fumbled all over themselves to join like it was an invite in the year 2000. Given the track record, I’m guessing the new PAC will end up suing somebody when they realize they don’t have any guaranteed playoff spots.

The CFP is throwing the group of 6 a bone with no meat.

All want the 11-5 except the BIG, but the B12's approval is conditioned on all P4 conferences playing 9 conference games. The B1G has indicated it could go with 11-5, but only under the same conditions.

No wonder the B12 and the ACC want the 5-11 format, the in-conference games' SOS for the Lesser 2 lag far behind the B1G and the SEC.

In 2025, three SEC teams, Alabama, Florida, and South Carolina, play 10 P4 opponents. 13 B1G teams play 10 P4 opponents. Sankey can use all of the ESPN-generated stats he likes, but this is not an even path to the PO.

SEC Snake Sankey wants it both ways. 8 conference games and 5-11. It Just Means More, right?

There is no way Tony Petitti should allow this. If the SEC and ACC don't go to 9 conference games, then stay with a field of 12 teams. When it comes to the bottom line, SEC is 2nd to the B1G and will stay there with 8 conference games and a 12-team field.

BTW, as long as college championship games are played, Notre Dame should be required to play 10 P4 opponents.
