Posted 11 hours ago11 hr Administrator Our Oregon football program opened the season with a trouncing of Montana State, 59-13, in Autzen. Now, let’s get this out of the way right away: Both Oregon’s offense and defense played outstandingly in week one. This was as good a performance as I’ve seen the Ducks have in at least the last ten seasons, if not more. 7 hours ago7 hr Moderator Thanks Alex for the Article today. Your picks are worthy of your recognition. The whole team was worthy! The first pick for me would be A'Mauri Washington and the defensive line. From the first play and on they took away the run for Montana State!Honorable mention would be the running back room, expecially the freshman Jordon Davison for his 3 touchdowns. Thanks again Alex for all your writing.
6 hours ago6 hr Moderator Great article. I had an interesting conversation with a Bobcats fan at a restaurant post game. I told him I thought they actually looked pretty good as they didn’t really have many breakdowns and give up huge chunk or game changers minus the punt blocks.I told him the reason for the lop sided score was more due to the Ducks simply winning one play after another on both sides of the ball. Four and five star guys doing four and five star things all day long will do that. This game reminded me a lot of the Georgia game for the same reasons. It really felt like nearly every player deserved MVP for how solid they all played throughout the game.Montana St looked like a well coached and disciplined team that ran into another well coached and disciplined team with much more fire power. No shame in that.I think this may be the beginning of a special season.
5 hours ago5 hr Moderator One thing that was also of note, with so many players rotating into our offense. No turnovers!!
3 hours ago3 hr I loved the effort out of Dakorian Moore but I think Malik Benson probably takes it. He was quiet and doesn't have the hype around him but he was darn effective. Defensively it's difficult to pick anyone as the whole unit was so effective that they just got the job done. Thanks Alex for also not taking the easy pick of Dante Moore (or any QB) because that is the easiest place to say player of the week.
2 hours ago2 hr Washington is my #1. No DT should have that many tackles and that much time spent in the backfield. He wrecked the run game for the #1 rushing team in all of college football.
