Posted September 22Sep 22 No. The title says it all. We are making the trek east and will be in State College Friday-Sunday. Anyone know if any Oregon gatherings or tailgates?
September 22Sep 22 No. Pete,Recommend you shoot a note out to Charles, (Mr. Fishduck) and see what his plans are generally for the charter group he is leading to State College for the game. I suspect he (or someone else) has some activities planned besides just taking a bus to the hotel and then on to the game or just going to the stadium.I would be shocked if the charter group of Ducks was not greeted warmly, hailed, and invited to visit a number of tailgates outside the stadium in the parking areas. I don't believe the Nittany Lion boosters and fans have realized the Ducks can beat them, or they could lose this game to the Ducks. This will be an educational game for all of us.Keep an eye out for when we kick off. The Buckeyes weren't expecting that kick-off ball to ricochet off the DBs' chest last year at Autzen.Best regards and VR,KCDuck1 Edited September 22Sep 22 by KCDuck1 Re-stated a sentence to simplify the statement.

September 24Sep 24 No. I would guess that just by walking around outside the stadium in Duck gear before the game, several aggregations of PSU fans are likely to try to start a conversation by offering something to eat and drink. In the big faceoff in Athens against Notre Dame in 2019, I saw Georgia folk engaging the ND fans all over the place the morning (and afternoon) before the game. I asked many Irish fans if they were having a good time on campus, and everyone said they loved the Southern Hospitality they were receiving, We did a lot of joking though that it wouldn't be that way Between the Hedges in Sanford Stadium once the sun went down. I suspect some of you will meet PSU fans like that. Just stay away from the students.Incidentally, you may be interested to know that the blogging procrastinators on the Dawg site in which I participate pretty universally predict OBD to win this game, and many don't think it will be close. This reflects, I think, the regard they have for Lanning and the lack thereof for Franklin ever winning big games. Thought you might find the sentiment in Dawg land interesting so I am passing it along.

They're always going to act like little turds unless you summon some of your old drinking skills and put them to shame. Then they'll worship you like a Norse god.

If you wish to buy pre-game libations you can only buy beer at a distributor and some convenience stores. However, the convenience stores only sell small volumes (six pack and lower). I will be bringing a case of select NC IPA’s to the tailgate just in case their only offering is Yeungling, which is Pennsylvania’s version of Henry Weinhard.

Are you going to the ESPN game day?

We’re going to walk to the stadium and catch the CATA blue line to the Old Main Lawn. Afterward, we’ll head back to the car to change clothes and get ready for the tailgate. There will likely be an ice cream stop at the creamery in there somewhere.
