He danced around the bases after his bottom-of-the-ninth, solo home run to beat the New York Yankees in Game 7 of the 1960 World Series

I remember walking home from school and hearing, as I went past stores that had the radio on and doors open, that he hit that home run. Imagine, a middle-of-the-week afternoon World Series game.

WOW! Thanks for the blast from the past.

Back then, the World Series was played in the daylight.

We snuck transistor radios into Middle School to listen to the games played during the week. The entire school erupted when Mazeroski hit the famous, Series-clinching walk-off home run.
